A AAA Brütal Legend remake with Gameplay Fixes for these weird RTS scenes.

Alternatively No One Lives Forever 3.

[–] 1hitsong@lemmy.ml 2 points 11 hours ago

American McGee's idea for the 3rd Alice game.

EA is the worst!

nobody's interested in driving?
i wish for a test drive unlimited: earth, with physics, tuning, customisation from forza

[–] TammyTobacco@sh.itjust.works 3 points 13 hours ago

A Sim Tower successor that isn't too sweaty and micro-managey.

A space combat sim with accurate relativistic physics.

[–] tsalpasnah@lemmy.zip 2 points 14 hours ago

I-war III (Independance War) but leaning more to the first (1997). I loved this game ans its feeling.

[–] xangadix@lemmy.world 2 points 15 hours ago

That would mean you would accelerate and hurdle astroids between solar systems, starship troopers style?

I like it it.

[–] Lycist@lemmy.world 4 points 14 hours ago

X4: Foundations mixed with Oblivion.

I want to fling fireballs at goblins and then take off and fling missiles at capital ships. Let me orbitally bombard that dire wolf nest until its nothing but ashes. Gimme space magic where a wizard powers some kinda magi-tech engine that amplifies its ice magic to be a viable weapon in interstellar space.

The largest immersive Sim ever. They would have to try to get as much people from Ex-Arkane Studios and everyone these people want on their team (down to choosing their housekeeping staff if they want to), and my only mandate would be that they do their thing without any time/money constraints - i want to see what these people could do if the business side of game development wasn't a factor. No time limits, no forced genres, no externally dictated game names, nothing of that bullshit. Just pure realization of a coherent vision.

[–] fistac0rpse@fedia.io 3 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

"without any time/money constraints"

How do you stop it from turning into a Star Citizen scenario?

[–] Wildmimic@anarchist.nexus 2 points 14 hours ago* (last edited 14 hours ago)

By trusting that the people who worked at Arkane Studios want to deliver a specific vision, as it is with most artists. Star Citizen is a MLM-style Scam first and a game second.

On a second thought, i would like them to be more like an artistic collective with unlimited funds than a game studio.

Oh just whatever game they've always wanted to make if they got the chance

Metal Fatigue 2: Echoes of Empire Or maybe Metal Fatigue 2: Entropy of Empire

Combots and Overseers were not the only thing to survive the fall of the Hedoth and there are whole factory sized machines that have woken up to resist trespassing.

These automated matter conversion facilities are sprawling behemoths of living metal that crawl across the landscape recycling broken things and toxic remnants leaving behind only pristine wilderness and stone ruins.

The story would follow the three major corporations fighting over this nightmarishly dangerous "terraforming" technology while dealing with new separatist rebel faction calling themselves "The Union".

The Union are anticorponational agitators trying to establish a Constitutional Republic on top of the ruins of empire we are only now just finding out was exterminated with surgical precision.

[–] shpuncle@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 14 hours ago

I've been wanting a colony/city builder where you gather resources and build up your defenses, as well as the colony/city itself to keep your people fed and happy.

You would get raided by bandits and other factions, and hope your defenses hold up, tower defense style. It would be cool if you could also head down to the battlefield yourself in first person.

As time goes by, you research new technology and evolve your city from ancient to more modern era, which makes you redesign your city to accommodate for the new tech. It would have nice qol so you can copy and paste your paths/roads, walls and fortifications without having to lay down brick for brick - unless you really want to.

Growing into a kingdom/civilization with multiple cities could also be a cool feature, and also open up for invading and taking over other cities to grow your empire. This might also lead to focusing your outer cities on defense, while specialising your inner cities for population and economy growth, as well as research and logistics.

Basically Civilization, Age of Empires, Sim City and more in one neat package.

Combine city skylines, civilization, and democracy - i want a society sim

Allow the players to get real unique with the shape of society and have the soc-sim give reasonable (or at least enjoyable) responses

Something that really enjoyably presses the point that society shapes both laws and city design and policy foriegn and domestic - some entity greater than the sum - an egregore - and that you as the player who can mold the clay of society - which society do you pilot to form the shape of your vision?

Id play that game so much

It's a bit absurd, but I'd like to see a Skate-esque control scheme/engine applied to other sports games, especially a basketball game. It'd be kind of QWOP-y, but so many possibilities and potentially so satisfying.

[–] jaaake@lemmy.world 2 points 13 hours ago

This isn't what you were asking for, but you said QWOP and sports and is nearly literally QWOP golf: https://youtu.be/rT1IYuT5X4o

This DEFINITELY isn't what you were asking for, but you might find it amusing. It's a degree of abstraction from QWOP, but is basketball. https://youtu.be/ZPB_me25O94

Extensible open world-y shooty thing, in the vein of Far Cry or GTA games. First class mod support so game content itself is a "mod" and nothing hardcoded. Individual, potentially really small bits of "logic"/behavior can be switched on/off/out, such as different driving physics/enemy AI modes/arcade shooter vs ballistic simulation. Behavior written in some kind of fairly accessible language. Multiplayer support.

In theory it should be (potentially) everything to everyone. That never works in practice, of course, but I think it would've been neat. The main goal is to take a lot of the pain in the ass out of modding so as to enable more of it, make things possible that are generally annoying/impractical in modding existing games with usually dogshit support etc

[–] miseducator@lemmy.world 2 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

The VR game had a good but of detective puzzling if I remember correctly.

[–] RodgeGrabTheCat@sh.itjust.works 3 points 15 hours ago

2D pixel art Metal Gear + FEZ's dynamic world perspective rotation puzzle design. For Raiden chapters, add Hyper Light Drifter and Celeste elements. Disasterpeace does the soundtrack.

[–] PetteriPano@lemmy.world 3 points 17 hours ago

I really want to play Rampart in a modern take. Might be I just miss multiplayer couch games with friends.

[–] nate3d@lemmy.world 3 points 17 hours ago

Binding of Isaac + Risk of Rain 2 + Cult of the Lamb

[–] rumschlumpel@feddit.org 3 points 17 hours ago* (last edited 17 hours ago) (1 children)

Pillars of Eternity 3, in the style of PoE 1+2 (i.e. isometric perspective and party-based combat). The original developer was bought out by Microsoft and now makes games that are more in line with The Elder Scrolls.

[–] novibe@lemmy.ml 1 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

The developer being Obsidian..? Makers of Fallout New Vegas..?

[–] rumschlumpel@feddit.org 1 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Yes. From everything I've heard and seen, it doesn't look like they're going to be making another isometric CRPG anytime soon. It's a pretty niche genre anyway, even Larian's success with Baldur's Gate 3 doesn't change that.

[–] novibe@lemmy.ml 1 points 12 hours ago

Yeah I just mean they’ve stepped out from making exclusively CRPGs way before being bought out by Microsoft. And they are still making weird more niche games from time to time. Like Grounded, Pentiment?

[–] gastroglizzy@piefed.social 2 points 16 hours ago

Kinda like Armored Core that's online and couch co-op. Instead of robots, you fight armored bugs, like Starship Troopers. Think Deep Rock Galactic co-op against bugs with Zone of the Enders style mechs and Killing Floor style wave based survival with a boss at the end.

[–] whoisearth@lemmy.ca 1 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

Reunite TTLG and make a new Thief game with the original voice actor for Garrett.

[–] EtnaAtsume@lemmy.world 1 points 11 hours ago (3 children)

But what relation does a game about stealing have with an anime about drill-wielding robots?

Gravity rush 3

[–] Alcoholicorn@mander.xyz 1 points 17 hours ago* (last edited 15 hours ago)

Just CM-SS13, but 3D and a few tweaks to merge gameplay with RP.

The way that actually shooting guns is such a minor part of combat that like 1 or 2 people in a squad of 10 people might actually be actively trying to shoot the aliens at any one time, while everyone else is occupied barricading, dragging people to safety, giving medical attention, fucking around, trying to get a handle on what the fuck is going on, trying to get supplies, etc has great potential for the kind of chaotic gameplay that makes games like Helldivers 2 fun until everyone kinda knows what they're doing.

Each player would receive secret objectives as the game goes on, each one completed gives currency for skins, the gameplay purpose of the objectives is to decrease overall cohesion; a soldier might have an objective to kill an alien with a knife, or the commander to capture some artifact.

To encourage fun gameplay over optimal gameplay, it will be impossible for the marine faction to win, the whole plot is that they're being used to test weapons, and can't be reused after this so the game just keeps giving increasingly difficult and absurd objectives (such as declaring a squad in the field is working with aliens) as central command stops sending supplies, "accidentally" shells positions at random, remotely hijacks their mothership and crashes it into the planet, where the marines make a last stand.
