No Linux support
We use their 'B2' thing (which is pay-per-GB), not their 'personal backup' thing (which is the one without Linux support and IIRC is 'oh it's unlimited! don't use Too Much though! how much is too much? oh it's unlimited!'). B2 is "S3 compatible" storage not a regular thing, so it's kind of a hassle to work with, but some backup tools can back up to S3-style storage (we use restic for that).

Basically what you want is all files you own should be on more than one drive and computer. Not just raid where the raid array can be damaged or the file overwritten by a careless mistake.
Basically my local files are incrementally synced daily from my computers -> a single board computer with 2 3.5" slots and a big ass drive with zfs. Because ZFS/BTRFS support incremental syncs it normally takes 1-3 minutes daily to send changed files per computer. ZFS also knows when its own data is corrupt and if I find any I can resync known good data from the known good copy.
If the big ass drive dies all the data is on the other machines and I can just replace it and resync.
If the big ass drive isn't big enough or gets old I put a second drive in the other slot and sync A->B and get rid of or repurpose the other drive.
If I want greater reliability I can add a second big ass drive in mirror mode.
If I want even greater reliability I can buy a second such setup and put it another parties house.
If I'm worried about the drive getting lost/stolen encryption makes it so nobody at another address can read shit and I can still do incremental syncs.
This of course isn't free because why the fuck would it be but you can do a ton with just a single machine and drive

AFAIK cheapest is hetzner storage box (if you're over 600GB and under 1TB) Only problem you can't increase a bit, you need to double storage and cost. For more granular or expecting to pass 1TB soon, Backblaze B2 or Wasabi.
Local is the only reliant option.
what do you mean local? I had two usb sticks crap out on me with a bunch of info I wanted to keep. And want something where I don't have to worry about it
Buy an old PC and setup a NAS with RAID redundancy.
Who the fuck uses thumb drives for anything important.
Grab two large USB hard drives, have an rsync job to them, switch them out weekly and store the one that is not in use offsite. If you don't have someone that's a trustworthy a reasonable distance away, you can just use a storage locker.
Have you considered something like a solid state drive made by a reputable manufacturer? I have a couple 1tb HDDs that are at least a decade old and still going strong.
Unless the data is backed up on a second source, it's only a matter of time before it's gone.

I think I pay ~$12-$13USD for 3TB of storage with BB2. It's been great. Nightly incremental backups with TrueNAS. Haven't had the need yet to pull down the data (which I should, you should test your backups with a restore on occasion), but I have peace of mind knowing it's there and encrypted.
For free, no. For cheap, that depends on what "cheap" means to you.

If you aren't looking for a daily, you can also just buy an external hard drive or two and rotate them manually from time to time. That's my setup I have an external that auto backs up daily and then every couple of weeks I bring the cold storage drive over and rsync it.
Since I visit the location that I store the cold drive in every couple of weeks, I just plan it for when I'm there.
price wise that route would be looking at roughly 40-80 USD a drive vs cloud solutions which would be 3-10$ a month. so it would pay for itself in 8-16 months depending on drive cost
I used to do this when I commuted to my employer's office on a regular basis. Volume is encrypted ofc.
