Showerthoughts

A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The most popular seem to be lighthearted clever little truths, hidden in daily life.

Here are some examples to inspire your own showerthoughts:

Rules

  1. All posts must be showerthoughts
  2. The entire showerthought must be in the title
  3. No politics
    • If your topic is in a grey area, please phrase it to emphasize the fascinating aspects, not the dramatic aspects. You can do this by avoiding overly politicized terms such as "capitalism" and "communism". If you must make comparisons, you can say something is different without saying something is better/worse.
    • A good place for politics is c/politicaldiscussion
  4. Posts must be original/unique
  5. Adhere to Lemmy's Code of Conduct and the TOS

If you made it this far, showerthoughts is accepting new mods. This community is generally tame so its not a lot of work, but having a few more mods would help reports get addressed a little sooner.

Whats it like to be a mod? Reports just show up as messages in your Lemmy inbox, and if a different mod has already addressed the report, the message goes away and you never worry about it.

Part of being an adult is making wackadoodle decisions and eating things you later regret.

Knowing and doing are very different.

Wait; what?

I mean, maybe they’re a liiiittle fatty, but I’m not going to be eating boneless skinless chicken breast instead.

I made a Thai green curry with enough ghost peppers that I’m taking firey shits today and that boneless skinless chicken breast was damn tasty.

Now imagine how much better it would have been with wings.

I’ve got wings marinating in kaffir leaves, lemongrass and ghost peppers so I don’t have to imagine.

I woke up this morning with a spring in my step because it’s chicken wing day.

purposely made right they are great but like with rotiseri I eat them first because that is the point in time where they will be at their best but they are not the best part.

[–] ccunning@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

they are not the best part.

Wait; what?

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 2 points 1 day ago

when harvested from a rotiseri. to be good they have to be made in a specific way.

[–] Cherry@piefed.social 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Whats your fav sauce on them?

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.social 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I like them dry with a rub on them and barbecued.

[–] Cherry@piefed.social 2 points 1 day ago

I also like them roasted to dry/crispy, then served with buffalo and blue cheese sauce.

Part of being an adult is knowing that satisfying your cravings shouldn't come at the expense of another's suffering.

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.social 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Don’t worry I just remove the wings and release the chickens to enjoy a fulfilling life.

[–] ccunning@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

How long does it take for them to grow back?

Then why are you satisfying your craving to be a dick at the expense of our mental suffering?

[–] the_q@piefed.social 4 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I get no pleasure from being reminded that I'm surrounded by those that choose to inflict suffering.

[–] AwesomeLowlander@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

So you've chosen to inflict your own suffering too, got it.

[–] the_q@piefed.social 2 points 1 day ago

I also get no pleasure from being surrounded by morons...

[–] DeathsEmbrace@lemmy.world -3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

You participate in capitalism you don’t get to complain about “choose to inflict suffering”.
