As did 428 others; makes me curious what the actual content of that bill was, and why it was so vehemently opposed.

It was not a vote for the while bill. It was an amendement to the existing bill to strip Israel funding off the bill.

The amendement suggested not giving free weapons to Israel with American taxpayer dollars

So literally no reason to vote no.

Whilst we should be fighting Zionism, let's not celebrate MTG, as she did this likely because of geniune antisemitism as opposed to a concern for Palestinians. Remember the Jewish Space Laser thing.

Can you show me the Jewish Space Lasers part of the bill?

Social media is full of these half baked justifications like the ones you've responding to here makes it clear that aoc actions are just as uncritically accepted as any of her fellow Democrats as they continue supporting the genocide.

Can you show me where I implied that the bill contained JSL? Where I justified the bill being voted against? I just said "hey MTG doesn't have good interests at heart and if this bill is good it might be broken clock moment" but sure, go off

You can stop now. AOC already came out and clarified that this was not about MTG, but she wanted to send weapons to Israel from taxpayer money.

Send an article or tweet about that.

AOC is career politician (insert add for term limits here) and as such she is tries to walk the middle line, carefully selecting her words and never goes far enough on her stance on certain issues that might get her in trouble, like her meandering support about Gaza and Israel. She is not the progressive darling we need, just the best the DNC has, and at times, that isn't saying much. We need a viable working class, progressive party that isn't afraid to fight.

She is an outspoken surrogate for President Biden, a figure many fellow socialists have condemned as a warmonger. She has also carefully calibrated her messaging around the war in Gaza, declining to take some positions that have inflamed Jewish Americans.
