I had a tiny 5 lb Burmese cat that would hop up in my lap, fart, and jump down.

He also liked to curl up underneath the covers when I slept in the tent made by my knees being up in bed. One day I farted on him. In response, he bit my dick. Not hard, but like the 'I'm biting you not to hurt you but to indicate my displeasure with you' type bites.

Yeah, they understand farts. His whole farting on me and leaving thing was intentional.

I miss you so much, little dude.

Do you truly understand farts?

[–] naticus@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

I understand they are and always will be hilarious.

As i recall, cats partially communicate through scent, so in my mind right now a fart would be like someone's Tourette syndrome expressing itself through sign language.

When my partner and I first got our kittens, they were just a couple weeks old. We were sitting on the floor of their room and they were shambling around adorably. I tooted on the hardwood floor LOUDLY and it vibrated the room, and both of them jumped up into the air, all paws leaving the floor. It was hilarious.

I've had a farting cat, he didn't seem annoyed, amused, or whatever by his own farts. And it stank. Now he's okay, he doesn't fart anymore.

I often fart on my cats, they only care if it's really loud. So most of the time they don't care at all. That's sad.

The farting cat helps a lot

No. We have a newer orange cat that was doing some self care in the middle of the room. Just as he flexed down to begin, he squeaked out a tiny fart. It was audible and he only reacted when we did. That shit was funny.
