"ask them out." Lol

But maybe πŸ€” you liked the slur???

[–] CrimeIsLegalNow@ani.social 0 points 4 hours ago

It's meant more for "maybe you appreciated being directly propositioned"

I assume it isn't the same message for hate speech.

A few possibilities come to mind. "Digger" is an antiquated derogatory term used for Native Americans in California and some other regions of the West. Also, some people are using it as an Ersatz for the N word in an attempt to veil their racism or bypass automated filters, much like how my inlaws think they are so clever by referring to non-whites as "Canadians." Racists are rarely as smart as they think they are.

First time I've seen "ersatz" used in the wild, unless you count the animated web series

Oh ... I figured that the movie was just getting a lot of negative feedback and whatever app this is had picked up on that.

so i hope im not missing a joke here but whatever you wrote got replaced with

"sremovedhorpe problem"

[–] Kazumara@discuss.tchncs.de 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

lol, really? That's a perfect demonstration then.

The word is a name of a town in the United Kingdom, and contains the vulgar word for female genitals / the friendly Australian greeting as a substring.

the link, unfortunately, gets censored too lol

but i can guess what it means.

[–] BeMoreCareful@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

It's not a great movie, but it is a cool movie.

Hinge, based on the font

Bad fuzzy match for a racial slur, I would guess

[–] midribbon_action@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

(Totally a normal and acceptable thing to do to somebody's private messages, apparently)

[–] Hazel@piefed.blahaj.zone 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

No no it's fine because it's just a bot scanning your messages

The company is just examining/selling/giving police the data logs generated by the bot afterwards, totally different!

[–] ryannathans@aussie.zone 11 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Ya missed the joke, it's playing on taste. Look at the auto responses at the bottom of the chat. "Ask them out" would be a weird AI response to fuzzy matching a racial slur

[–] urushitan@kakera.kintsugi.moe 18 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The rare post where a red circle would have helped the lemmy user

[–] deadbeef79000@lemmy.nz 11 points 1 day ago

Ironically there is a red circle.
