Comic Strips is a community for those who love comic stories.

Rules
  1. πŸ˜‡ Be Nice!

    • Treat others with respect and dignity. Friendly banter is okay, as long as it is mutual; keyword: friendly.
  2. 🏘️ Community Standards

    • Comics should be a full story, from start to finish, in one post.
    • Posts should be safe and enjoyable by the majority of community members, both here on lemmy.world and other instances.
    • Any comic that would qualify as raunchy, lewd, or otherwise draw unwanted attention by nosy coworkers, spouses, or family members should be tagged as NSFW.
    • Moderators have final say on what and what does not qualify as appropriate. Use common sense, and if need be, err on the side of caution.
  3. 🧬 Keep it Real

    • Comics should be made and posted by real human beans, not by automated means like bots or AI. This is not the community for that sort of thing.
  4. πŸ“½οΈ Credit Where Credit is Due

    • Comics should include the original attribution to the artist(s) involved, and be unmodified. Bonus points if you include a link back to their website. When in doubt, use a reverse image search to try to find the original version. Repeat offenders will have their posts removed, be temporarily banned from posting, or if all else fails, be permanently banned from posting.
    • Attributions include, but are not limited to, watermarks, links, or other text or imagery that artists add to their comics to use for identification purposes. If you find a comic without any such markings, it would be a good idea to see if you can find an original version. If one cannot be found, say so and ask the community for help!
  5. πŸ“‹ Post Formatting

    • Post an image, gallery, or link to a specific comic hosted on another site; e.g., the author's website.
    • Meta posts about the community should be tagged with [Meta] either at the beginning or the end of the post title.
    • When linking to a comic hosted on another site, ensure the link is to the comic itself and not just to the website; e.g.,
      βœ… Correct: https://xkcd.com/386/
      ❌ Incorrect: https://xkcd.com/
  6. πŸ“¬ Post Frequency/SPAM

    • Each user (regardless of instance) may post up to five (5 πŸ–) comics a day. This can be any combination of personal comics you have written yourself, or other author's comics. Any comics exceeding five (5 πŸ–) will be removed.
  7. πŸ΄β€β˜ οΈ Internationalization (i18n)

    • Non-English posts are welcome. Please tag the post title with the original language, and include an English translation in the body of the post; e.g.,
      SΓ, por favor [Spanish/EspaΓ±ol]
  8. 🍿 Moderation

    • We are human, just like most everybody else on Lemmy. If you feel a moderation decision was made in error, you are welcome to reach out to anybody on the moderation team for clarification. Keep in mind that moderation decisions may be final.
    • When reporting posts and/or comments, quote which rule is being broken, and why you feel it broke the rules.
Banned Artists

The following artists are banned from the community.

  1. Jago
  2. Stonetoss
  3. GPrime85

It should be noted that when you make reports, it is your responsibility to provide rational reasoning why something should be removed. Saying it simply breaks community rules is not always good enough.

Web Accessibility

Note: This is not a rule, but a helpful suggestion.

When posting images, you should strive to add alt-text for screen readers to use to describe the image you're posting:

Another helpful thing to do is to provide a transcription of the text in your images, as well as brief descriptions of what's going on. (example)

Forget duck, give me life of an Orca. It checks every single checkbox for a fun comfortable life.

  1. Endangered: humans won't fuck with them
  2. Intelligent: one of the most intelligent animals on this planet
  3. Apex predator: we kinda take this for granted. I dont wanna spend my life being chased by hawks.
  4. No mosquito
  5. They have great social life
  6. I'm giant, I fuck with fishes, mom doesn't tell me anything cause she too is fucking with the fishes

I am reading #4 saying "oh my god" while looking like the dude in the anti-AI memes who is stunned when the computer says what he told it to say.

[–] qyron@sopuli.xyz 4 points 8 hours ago

Nope. Get me back to the starting point but grant me my memories from my past life.

[–] duckCityComplex@lemmy.world 5 points 10 hours ago

Simple but beautiful artwork on this one, especially the "reincarnate-o" panel.

dont ducks try to gangrape a female duck.

i think capybara, koala, or sloth would be more better.

[–] SkunkWorkz@lemmy.world 11 points 16 hours ago* (last edited 10 hours ago)

Koalas are literally smooth brained and have chlamydia. Like they are so stupid that they don’t even recognize eucalyptus leaves (their favorite food) if the leaves aren’t hanging on the tree and you put the leaves on a plate in front of the koala.

[–] late_pessimistic@slrpnk.net 7 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

AFAIK koalas are rapists too. Living in the wild is brutal for every being, really

[–] TransNeko@lemmy.world 0 points 6 hours ago

so what you are saying is that men are like Koalas. too stupid to see the truth and rapists pieces of shit.

[–] TankovayaDiviziya@lemmy.world 10 points 19 hours ago (3 children)

Plot twist: He's reincarnated as a duck in a duck farm.

[–] Smoogs@lemmy.world 2 points 9 hours ago

Where you're a slave but you dont have to do squat and they feed you and you dont have to pay them a dime. Then die before you're life is over before you become a trapped burden to yourself and everyone around you.

Unlike this life where you are a slave and have to scrape together to feed yourself and them...then you cant just simply die. no simple release. you must wither away.

[–] Honytawk@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 9 hours ago

At least it will be ~~quack~~ quick

If you secularize the idea of rebirth, removing any idea of cosmic justice, all you have is a hypothetical naturalistic process. What you'll be reborn as will depend on what's being born, and the odds don't look so great.

[–] saimen@feddit.org 3 points 11 hours ago (2 children)

I can actually secularize the idea of cosmic justice. I can totally imagine the idea of karma being a completely mechanistic process, just extremely complicated and convulated involving multiple other dimensions.

[–] AnimalsDream@slrpnk.net 2 points 9 hours ago

Karma has been interpreted that way, as basically just cause and effect in the field of human ethics. It's also extremely misunderstood by virtually everyone in the west.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Have you watched The Good Place?

[–] saimen@feddit.org 1 points 10 hours ago (1 children)
[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 9 hours ago

Well without spoiling anything, it sounds like it might be right up your alley.

Very funny and very thought provoking. They get pretty in the weeds at times about how something like "secular" karma-like system might work, and how the complexities of the modern world would make it essentially unworkable.

Here I come, Pelagibacter ubique.

[–] Itisreallyboring@lemmy.world 61 points 1 day ago (5 children)

It's really funny to see a bunch of terminal online people to one-up each other about how much they know about duck penises.

The comic is nice.

People wishing to be one with nature don't ever seem to realize that nature is brutal and horrific just as much as it is peaceful and serene. If anything it is more the former.

[–] yermaw@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 day ago

Yeah fuck nature. Domesticated cat is the sweet spot.

Outside free to roam a fairly safe territory and then snuggles and guaranteed food and shelter pretty much on command.

Ditto dog, but they've got a slightly less sweet deal.

Meanwhile ducks are over here raping each other and they have crazy spiral dicks.

I have to search the image about this, but you know the even crazier part is that female ducks evolved spirals in the opposite direction

How's he wake up as a grown-ass duck?

[–] tgcoldrockn@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago

You need to be more mallardable with real time here.

He got reincarnated as a violent rapist?

[–] bertlewirth@lemmy.world 1 points 11 hours ago

[–] Tabula_stercore@lemmy.world 2 points 16 hours ago

Yes, with a corkscrew penis

Being a mallard isn't bad ... if you're male (this one is).

Edit: Damn, that's some nice ripply water.

Ducks are pretty brutal to each other, worse than chickens even.

I'd be horrified, but maybe this guy is into it
