In America diesel is primarily used by Corporations for trucking. Most American cars use gasoline. So this deal is really about lowering costs for the big companies, not about lowering gas prices for working class

He didn’t show shit we always know and have known for over a decade. Trash journalism is trash.

[–] Akasazh@lemmy.world 118 points 4 days ago (1 children)

The Hitler salute wasn't clear enough a message?

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 78 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (6 children)

Two Hitler salutes on stage at the US Presidential Inauguration

It's amazing how easily it was for them to make that go away. Disturbing how nobody fucking cares.

[–] EmilieEasie@fedinsfw.app 21 points 4 days ago (1 children)

People won't even leave twitter ☹️

[–] ElDuderino@lemmus.org 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Is that true? I thought twitter was pretty much just fascists and hookers nowadays.

[–] EmilieEasie@fedinsfw.app 3 points 3 days ago

Yeah, unfortunately. I still routinely run into big artists and stuff that either keep twitter along side bluesky or are only on Twitter still.

[–] ZC3rr0r@piefed.ca 12 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

Two recorded salutes. Like, we have it on video from multiple sources.
And yet, he gets to have the fucking ADL run cover for him. It's disgusting what you get away with if you're rich enough to either make people eat their words, or they self-censor to avoid possible fallout.

[–] Jarix@lemmy.world 8 points 4 days ago

The people who care, and there are millions of them, mostly already held the appropriate opinion of them.

It's amazing how many don't care, but again we already knew they were shit people and it isn't a surprise that those people are entirely okay with it until they are personally affected by it all (specifically their wallet)

What's amazing is how many millions of people aren't offing themselves due to the futility of holding onto their beliefs after decades of trying to advocate for a better world

[–] Witchfire@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago

That's what happens when billionaires own the media

[–] Tattorack@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

Dude, half the people I spoke with don't believe it's a nazi salut.

Elon Musk again showing why we should release the Epstein Files, snatch up all the billionaires in the country, and either send them down the ocean via submarine or just plain old drop them off in some deserted island blindfolded and let them kill themselves off.

[–] zbyte64@awful.systems 14 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Now that would be a reality TV show I might watch

[–] Corkyskog@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Give them a hundred dollars in tradeable items per Billion they had. Then watch them Duke it all out. Would be interesting to see who lives like a king on the island and who get subjugated.

[–] zbyte64@awful.systems 1 points 3 days ago

The idea of rewarding their ill gotten gains has me thinking it should be a running man type show and the distance from the finish line is 1 mile for every billion

[–] orbitz@lemmy.ca 6 points 4 days ago

The files he's in that he begs to become a member of the exclusive club? Yes we should release them. Fucking douche turd....huh wonder what the best way to combine those two words as an insult. Oh well I'll use it if someone can think of it. Tudush is my best but there's a lreason I'm not a writer.

[–] aceshigh@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago

Are you trying to make titen a trend?

[–] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 69 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Not "just shown" they have been showing it all along

[–] UpAndAtThem@lemmy.world 17 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Absolutely. 'Quick they lost the benefit of the doubt again, let's make up a new doubt for them to enjoy the benefit of.' Not how this shit should work.

[–] Flower@sh.itjust.works 8 points 4 days ago

And by doing this sort of shit people now see the media as an enemy within, or a cheerleader of the enemy at a minimum.

[–] betanumerus@lemmy.ca 10 points 3 days ago

Elon Musk has supported, and still is, supporting trump's election campaigns. Musk cannot shift the blame away from himself.

[–] Burn_The_Right@lemmy.today 31 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Trump, Musk and the rest of the epstein class are the chosen representatives of conservatives. They accurately represent all conservatives. Conservatives are the enemy within.

[–] mefisdo_dot_info@lemmy.ca 21 points 4 days ago (3 children)

Conservatism is a brain defect. It is the lack of internal moral compass. Therefore the appeal of external power structures that supposedly uphold the morals. They understand that morals are important for societal cohesion but cannot comprehend how morals are possible without external powers enforcing it. And then of course just fingers crossed that that external power -- dear Leader, the church, God -- is benevolent. Moreover, playing this system is seen as cleverness, as "it's part of the rules", therefore morally okay. Moreover, they think that anyone opposing external power structures as a surrogate for moral compass actually is trying to abolish any morals. Playing the structure is fine, removing it is immoral, according to them. It is a brain defect, amd people suffering from it should be put under guardianship. About half the population.

[–] Burn_The_Right@lemmy.today 4 points 3 days ago

Your solution is substantially more humane than mine.

[–] Dallimjp@sh.itjust.works 5 points 4 days ago

Holy shit that was well written!

[–] alphabethunter@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

I really like this interpretation of it.

[–] tigermountain@lemmy.world 12 points 3 days ago

Just shown my ass. This has been obvious for years.

[–] Malica@lemmy.zip 7 points 3 days ago

Trusting the USA will go down as one of Europe's biggest mistakes this century.

[–] Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca 23 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Uhh....rest of the world has known for an embarrassingly long time m'dude.

[–] Stormy@thelemmy.club 4 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Most of the US has known for awhile too.

[–] kent_eh@lemmy.ca 2 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Most of the US has known for awhile too.

If it really was "most", the USA wouldn't be in the situation it currently finds itself in.

[–] Stormy@thelemmy.club 1 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Low voter turn out and interference by musk and other rich fucks.

It was only like 28% or something that voted for him.

[–] Someone@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 days ago

Then it's perfectly reasonable to blame the third of Americans who didn't really care enough to vote, as well as that 28% of course.

[–] kent_eh@lemmy.ca 1 points 3 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

I also blame people who didn’t put in the effort to vote against Trump.

Yes there was some effort at voter suppression, but that was known and motivated people could have easily got past it if they cared enough to do so.

[–] RFKJrsBrainworm@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Every single attempt to suppress voters should be an offence with jail time, not a viable political strategy for the dumbest of Nazis

[–] kent_eh@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 days ago

Absolutely agree.

Unfortunately the US government operates on the "who is gonna stop me" principle.

[–] leave_it_blank@lemmy.world 18 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Thank you. The headline seems to ignore the rest of the last 8 decades.

[–] Cheebus@lemmy.world 15 points 4 days ago (2 children)

Service members: You defend the constitution against foreign AND DOMESTIC threats

you’re betraying your oath

[–] Stormy@thelemmy.club 4 points 4 days ago

The military has been gutted of the ethical. Hegseth made sure of it. The worst commanders, and 1st sargents made sure of it.

You can't count on them.

[–] ZC3rr0r@piefed.ca 3 points 4 days ago

It's an oath upheld through force to begin with, and if the authority doing the upholding is compromised the oath itself becomes mere spectacle.

Unless the people actually hold oath-breakers individually accountable, relying on the compromised military leadership or the compromised courts won't do shit.

[–] frisbird@lemmy.ml 14 points 4 days ago

Enemy within what? It has always been the case that the US will destroy its proxies, whether they win or lose the objective they were manipulated for

[–] Repelle@lemmy.world 7 points 4 days ago (1 children)

“The Enemy Within” is a good episode of Star Trek, and a good episode of Stargate. Why is it such a terrible fucking episode for the US?

[–] SabinStargem@lemmy.today 6 points 4 days ago (1 children)

The US was always a shit show. Change the channel?

I'm thinking we should terminate that channel

[–] stumu415@lemmy.zip 3 points 4 days ago

As I stated before, let Mexico and Canada pay for a wall. Close of the US from the rest of the world, which is now happening organically anyways, and check in a decade or so. The less shit comes out of that place, the better humanity will progress.

[–] banana69696969@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago (1 children)

The rest of the world: 'yeah, we've been saying that since about 1953.'
