Mine is that the useState hook is an actual plague on the entire React ecosystem. Regardless of your opinions of React, if you wanna use something then use it right.

It is not viable to expect 80s/90s level code optimisation in 10's/20's software.

Yes you could in theory, but with deadlines and security requirements you realistically cannot!
