It requires a weekly Karen sacrifice

[–] Surp@lemmy.world 2 points 21 hours ago

This is at American dream in New Jersey it's a giant indoor amusement park.

[–] ZILtoid1991@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Come to Europe! In most places, you can have that in your frontyard. Only fascist pieces of shits like HOA here.

It's made of cheap foam if it's the one from the show...it would need protections

[–] jumping_redditor@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 day ago (2 children)

what of lawn ornaments of the more car shaped variety?

[–] ZILtoid1991@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

My father has a whole car park in his front and backyard.

[–] oppy1984@lemdro.id 1 points 1 day ago

Probably depends on if it's the bricked or non-bricked variety.

[–] Ydna@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

We dressed up for Halloween 2 years ago

[–] Deebster@infosec.pub 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

What's the reference? I'm assuming a US game show or perhaps a film I haven't seen/don't remember.

[–] Whats_your_reasoning@lemmy.world 16 points 1 day ago (3 children)

“Legends of the Hidden Temple.” It was a kids’ game show on Nickelodeon in the early 90s.

[–] Ravenheart@lemmy.zip 5 points 1 day ago

I always rooted for the Silver Snakes, who never won. Lol. And the final obstacle course was BS, hardly any of those little kids could finish it.

[–] SlurpingPus@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

That name reminds me of the tabletop and computer RPG game ‘The Temple of Elemental Evil’, in that you can put the words of it in any order, it will still sound just fine.

[–] Ageroth@reddthat.com 3 points 1 day ago

My best one is : Evil the of Temple Elemental

[–] Deebster@infosec.pub 2 points 1 day ago

Thanks! It seems the kind of thing I had in mind, except the photo made me think the teams would be families.

I see the final round is called "Temple Run" - I wonder if that's any inspiration for that phone game.

[–] The_Picard_Maneuver@lemmy.world 18 points 2 days ago

This is great!

[–] tanisnikana@lemmy.world 26 points 2 days ago (1 children)

As an HOA president, hell yeah. Just keep it out of the rain so it stays good. :D

[–] The_Picard_Maneuver@lemmy.world 50 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Alright, you've earned yourself a pendant of life.

[–] tanisnikana@lemmy.world 27 points 2 days ago

Any fuck-ass Karen that says The Literal Actual Head of Olmec and Steps of Motherfuckin’ Knowledge will decrease property value, does not know what she’s talking about.

[–] mangofeet@fedia.io 34 points 2 days ago (5 children)

so I’ve been watching this recently with my kid and when the credits came on it said Olmec was voiced by “Dee Baker” and I wondered… looked it up and sure enough Olmec was voiced and puppeteed by Dee Bradley Baker! dude is everywhere

[–] bitjunkie@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)
[–] TargaryenTKE@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

And at least 1/3 of it is Star Wars (or at least seems that way, I'm not gonna sit here and count all that shit for free)

[–] anarchy79@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

James Earl Olmec

[–] The_Picard_Maneuver@lemmy.world 14 points 2 days ago

Wow, this guy has done so much!

[–] LemmyPlaceDN@europe.pub 5 points 2 days ago

I'll never forget his name because he voiced the Jockey from Left 4 Dead 2

[–] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

That man is a lot older than he lets on.

[–] MissJinx@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Where I live, the only places that have HOA are condos and gated comunities. We can not have HOA in a free open street. Sorry for you guys.

[–] anarchy79@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Thank god. I could never survive in one of those citywalled little WASP fiefdoms. They look nice but the cult like conformity for "property value" is some psycho shit I could never get over. I'd foment an armed insurgency before the week was up.

[–] cattywampas@lemmy.world 27 points 2 days ago (1 children)

If they come around to ask about it, you gotta jump out at them dressed as a temple guard and drag them away.

[–] wreckedcarzz@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Never to be seen again, right? ...right?

[–] anarchy79@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

They go in the pit of eternal damnation.

[–] W98BSoD@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 2 days ago

Unless they happen to have a pendant of life

[–] reader@lemmy.zip 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

you should install AI in it

[–] The_Picard_Maneuver@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I honestly think something like that would be a cool use of AI, assuming you could run it self-contained and locally.

Just a little talking statue, or maybe one of those big mouth bass things trying to roast people as they walk by.

[–] Deme@sopuli.xyz 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

...and then drop that with integrated solar panels in the territory of an uncontacted tribal society.

This is the start of at least a few Star Trek episodes.

[–] reader@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

unrestricted, it would become the real thing

[–] anarchy79@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Unrestricted is already a real thing. Knock yourself out!

Personally I'm fine with an Olmec head with a little hidden speaker that always plays a deep ethereal "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah"

Just put it up around Halloween, no one says anything and you can just leave it up apparently (ask my neighbors).

[–] MrWafflesNBacon@lemmy.world 13 points 2 days ago

Hey you can't put that in your lawn! i̸͇̋'̴͎̆m̵͙̌ ̶̢̯̯̼͔͂̇̀̔̈́̐c̶̢̘͕͎̙̩̿̑͂͝ā̴̭͔̌̇̽l̷͉̋̇̓͠l̸̮̔͘i̸̩̙̤̯̱͈̐́n̴̰͈͇͎̥̯͊̎̊g̷̩̙̜̼̀̌̌ͅ ̴̪̤͈͌̚͜ț̵͑̾̀̊͆̋ͅh̷̞̠̪͇͍̬̽e̸̬͉̞͓̣͎̐̑̍͘͝𓀃𓋩𓈬𓋙𓉮𓊿𓉡𓉄𓌝𓀇𓀋𓀭𓃷𓁄

To all my die-hard supporters at the HOA, you can die easy too!

[–] wreckedcarzz@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

Me, hating our HOA but yearning for death: confused screaming
