isnt that a tree of heaven, invasive and hosts an invasive insect.
Mildly Interesting
This is for strictly mildly interesting material. If it's too interesting, it doesn't belong. If it's not interesting, it doesn't belong.
This is obviously an objective criteria, so the mods are always right. Or maybe mildly right? Ahh.. what do we know?
Just post some stuff and don't spam.
Gonna need weekly updates on tree progress.
All progress stalled. We've already told the dog to stop peeing out the widow.
You must get some daring burglars there. I've never seen rolling shutters that high.
Those were never about protecting your house from burglary, they are just installed by default to protect small children from falling.
Not sure how is it around the world
I guess I can see that for the bars, but there's got to be a better way to do that than rolling security shutters.
Though looking closer, I see those shutters on windows with bars too, so maybe those aren't security shutters but external blinds or something?
Ok i am confused because i think this is not something acknowledged worldwide .
Two things we are talking about
the metal bars installed within the stones, those are meant to protect the kids from falling specially if you live on non ground floor, some ground floor install them to prevent burglaries, but it’s mainly to protect kids from falling
Example

Now you were asking about windows shutters (i dont know the market name for them worldwide) Anyway those are meant to give privacy at night, shield from cold winter, block the light coming from windows when you sleep, and sometimes noise blocking at daylight.
Example
brown thing behind the metal bars

Both should coexist in most apartments, its a normal thing here.
Those shutters are neat. Usually when I see them they're entirely for security purposes on businesses. Like these:

Or in some hurricane-prone (and wealthy) areas you might see them on houses:

But I've never seen them on apartment buildings before your post.
They're standard on pretty much all houses in almost all of Europe afaik
That's exactly what they look like to me. External blinds like this are quite common in my neck of the woods.
Hippie trees. Back in my day all the leaves were a single color.
