Mod logs are public. There are limitations because all moderation actions will not be shown on all instances, but where were you banned from?

I see 4 removed posts on lemmy.world:

A few more removed posts on your home instance:

Nothing different on my instance or lemmy.ml.

Are you sure you were banned?

[–] PrincessCory@lemmy.wtf 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

So does my posts look rude to you or offencive? I just asked some normal questions..

Did you see reasons were given in the mod log?

I can't see the posts or what comm they are in so I can't tell you if I agree with the reason for most. I can tell you that this post did not belong in Shower Thoughts so the removal makes sense and I can guess the "unrelated to Linux" reason for the post about free speech seems like it's probably a fair assessment too.

[–] FriendOfDeSoto@startrek.website 82 points 1 week ago (5 children)

That will not ban me for saying my opinion freely.

That depends very much on your opinion and how you choose to express it. Can you give us examples of how and where your freely expressed opinion has run afoul of moderation before?

[–] garth@sh.itjust.works 25 points 1 week ago

Asking the real question over here.

[–] yukichigai@kbin.earth 20 points 1 week ago

Yeah, I don't think you're gonna get any answers OP until you give specific examples of these opinions that you were banned for.

What opinions, specifically, are you getting banned for saying?

[–] Trying2KnowMyself@lemmy.ml 30 points 1 week ago (3 children)

I’ve never been banned or even moderated by Hexbear.net for saying my opinion freely.

sh.itjust.works it's in the name (:

[–] TrollAccount69@lemmy.ml 21 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It doesn’t seem like you’re being banned for saying your opinion freely.

It seems like you’re having posts removed because you don’t follow the rules and when someone points it out you choose to fight about it instead of fixing the problem on your end.

That event, nine days ago in your public modlog, took place on the lemmy.world server and you’re registered on lemmy.wtf. Changing servers won’t remove the world/c/asklemmy mods’ ability to enforce their rules.

Unless you’re talking about something else it seems like the problem here is you. Change your behavior or post places with different rules.

[–] PrincessCory@lemmy.wtf -5 points 5 days ago (3 children)

I didnt say anything bad ever, so why do you speak about some imaginary problem that quote i had 9 days ago in such a shady way, almost like hinding what was the problem exactly??

Cmon say it loud and be up front about it, what was that exactly? What topic, what post? Because i honestly have no idea what are you talking about..

[–] shweddy@lemmy.world 4 points 5 days ago (1 children)
[–] PrincessCory@lemmy.wtf 1 points 3 days ago

“I honestly dont have idea what are you talking about” is rude comment for you..? And false acusacions with 0 evidence are not..??

[–] TrollAccount69@lemmy.ml 2 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Your modlog is public. Scroll to the bottom, click modlog and search your name. Removed posts are listed there with the reasons for removal. 12 now days ago your post about YouTube was removed from the lemmy.world asklemmy community because its title didn’t have a question mark.

I am not able to successfully link removed posts but I can look through your comment log by clicking on your name and scrolling down.

Nothing I’m saying is imagined or hidden. In my comment you replied to I said all the same things.

This is not an attack. I am explaining to you why the things you brought up are happening because you erroneously believe changing servers would change the situation.

Consider changing your behavior to avoid this problem in the future.

[–] PrincessCory@lemmy.wtf 1 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

Wait if youtube does shady suf which is a fact at this point and not my opinion, thats ok. But if i say youtube is doing it than i get banned.. Because i didnt have a question mark? Well is this a forum for people or what? This is a place where people should write their opinions and be wrong about stuff, this is our right. Its not a television its internet forum..

[–] TrollAccount69@lemmy.ml 1 points 3 days ago

When you look at the rule list for the lemmy.world asklemmy community it says post titles need to end in a question mark. You were told in that thread that it didn’t have one and didn’t take any steps to remediate it. You have the capacity to edit the body and title of posts you make.

Here are some ways you could have rephrased your post title as a question in compliance with the rules: Is youtube doing some shady stuff? Has anyone else noticed shady stuff going on with youtube? I think youtube is doing some shady stuff, does anyone else?

You had a post removed because you didn’t follow the rules, not because of your opinions.

You were not banned. Having a post removed isn’t a ban. I bet if you made the same post with one of the rule following titles I suggested, it would stay up.

No one is judging and punishing you for your opinions.

[–] Rhynoplaz@lemmy.world 2 points 5 days ago (1 children)

The first step to getting better is admitting you have a problem.

[–] PrincessCory@lemmy.wtf 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)
[–] Rhynoplaz@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Perhaps, but when you ask why something is happening, and every response is the same, it's probably going to keep happening until you acknowledge that all these other people might actually know what they are talking about.

[–] PrincessCory@lemmy.wtf 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Its not just about why its happening its about is this ok? You are telling me that its fine to get removed for asking perfectly normal questions? And to share your thoughts? Ok than i will just go to reddit and know that free speach isnt allowed. Why would i bother with lemmy than?

[–] Rhynoplaz@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I haven't had any of the problems you're complaining about. But, if Lemmy isn't suiting your needs, then you shouldn't use it, but from what I can see about your removed posts, you're essentially showing up for book club and talking about movies. I'm sure they were perfectly fine opinions on those movies, but the people at book club want to talk about books.

[–] PrincessCory@lemmy.wtf 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

No wrong comunity isnt an issue here. If i posted something wrong than simple remove post, dont ban me for posting something out of place. Besides original post was olvejs in correct comunity. Reposts could strand in some wrong one The reason you dont have a problem is because you talk about dandylion stuff. Like this new tv show is awsome. But if you start kritiks about big tech companies you will start to feel same problems. So is this the world we are fighting for? World with no free speach, and no freedom? Am not fighting for that, thats for sure..

[–] Rhynoplaz@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I'm definitely confused then, because as a whole, Lemmy has no love for big tech. It started as a Linux forum! Youd be more likely to get banned for singing the praises of Apple, Google, or any AI, than for criticizing them. Clearly, you think you are being targeted, but I highly recommend you pay more attention to the context of the conversation and the words you use to communicate your ideas.

I'm just talking generally, I don't even know what the removed comments were, so I can't argue the point, but just pay attention to HOW you are speaking, be open to criticism and you'll be far less frustrated.

[–] PrincessCory@lemmy.wtf 1 points 1 day ago

Am not frustrated, am a bit sad that more people dont use lemmy. And bealeave me tenticales of big tech are in here also, as well as in many open source projects. Trying to ruin everything. I was following youtube channels for tech for years and learned how to build my own pc but i had never heard of linux in any of those places nor about open source software. I didnt even know what is that. So thats no coincidence. All those tech youtubers are just main stream grogling ducks that care not to teach real knowledge to regular people. And that whole situacion is not coincidence. Big tech dont want you to know about linux and open source software. And am just talking about that to other people, am not frustrated and im not mean to anyone here.

[–] Cowbee@lemmy.ml 19 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Depends on what opinions you have. I use Lemmy.ml, Lemmygrad.ml, and Hexbear.net, and all 3 have good uptime and don't censor me, because I align with communist beliefs.

[–] webdoodle@lemmy.ml -3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children)

Definitely not Lemmy.ml. I've been censored here multiple times. In every case, they just delete the material, and give me no reason, recourse or even acknowledge the censorship. They are as bad as Reddit.

They even demodded me from a lemmy sub I created, because they didn't like my political bent. At least they did it early, so I wouldn't waste 15 years commenting and posting, just to see it all deleted later.

[–] Cowbee@lemmy.ml 16 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I have never been censored on Lemmy.ml, so I can only wonder what your "political bent" is that they disagreed with.

I say whatever nonsense comes into my head, and I'm not "aligned" and I've never had any trouble with .ml, just as a counter-anecdote.

[–] Polisheocket@lemmy.zip 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

This is what I do, I don’t give a shit about others views. I haven’t had anything deleted even if I got down voted into oblivion

[–] jdr@lemmy.ml 5 points 1 week ago

Without such negative lemmykarma, how do you cope?

[–] robot_dog_with_gun@hexbear.net 19 points 1 week ago (1 children)

That will not ban me for saying my opinion freely.

what opinion?

[–] PrincessCory@lemmy.wtf 0 points 5 days ago

What ever opinion comes in my mind at the moment. Curently its that some servers doesnt allow free speach and just pretend they are all dandy while blocking people who say truth. With excuse no we are not banning you, its just some error that prevents you from using the app. And in general todays companies love errors and bugs because noone can acuse them for purposly preventing people from using a service when its “just a bug”.. Just a couple of examples:

Youtube gives you only 360p quality on firefox browser but will work in 1080p on chrome and its “just a bug”, they are not purposly making you switch to chrome..

Youtube will show that litlle dot when youtuber that you follow uplouds a new video. Except it doesnt work! Dot will appear all the time even youtuber didnt uploud a new video, and will not appear once he does. And this is “just a bug” that they arent fixing for years for some misterious reason… Such a big company with all the money in the world, and best developers out there, and jet this simple bug is still there up front, right in our faces..

[–] CutieBootieTootie@hexbear.net 19 points 1 week ago

Hexbear.net

[–] Shimitar@downonthestreet.eu 17 points 1 week ago

Just run your own server then. Nobody will ban you from it...

Of course, you can still be banned from other server's communities.

[–] TheMinions@lemmy.dbzer0.com 16 points 1 week ago (4 children)

Haven’t had an issue with dbzero. But shitjustworks seems like a good one too.

Look up what each server stands for and then pick whichever fits you.

[–] alcoholicorn@lemmy.ml 7 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (3 children)

Same, now that mander.xyz is down, I need an instance that avoids drama and is federated with everyone and also not blocked by the great firewall of china, since I'm headed back there in a couple weeks

[–] Cricket@lemmy.zip 3 points 6 days ago

I think the instance I'm on, lemmy.zip fits your description, but I don't watch Lemmy drama closely and don't know about the great firewall so I could be wrong.

[–] knatschus@discuss.tchncs.de 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

How can an instance avoid drama if it's federated with everyone?

[–] alcoholicorn@lemmy.ml 7 points 1 week ago

Being normal, ignoring people trying to start drama?

[–] hexagonwin@lemmy.today 3 points 1 week ago

lemmy.today i'm using now seems good. admins seem cool and server is reliable

[–] orlyowl@piefed.ca 5 points 1 week ago

I've been pretty happy over here on piefed.ca for the past several months. No complaints to speak of.
