Hopefully this puts a stop to all those people copying popular steam games. They are killing the indie game scene with their fucking slop.

I totally agree with you. But this is a speed bump in the long term. 😔

They are really making an increasingly strong case for local open weight models, run either on local infrastructure or rented data centre infrastructure. How long until they are going to try making those local models illegal?

The funniest one I encountered was - it wouldn't work on any nixos based development environments in its cloud runners and would flag them as bad use lol

Oh no people might have to do it the same old way we’ve been doing it since Pong. Using our own brains.

Ugh, was bound to happen. We need open models, BADLY. Unfortunately one also needs the hardware for them. I only have 20 GB VRAM and 32 GB of RAM, basically can't use a decent model with that, sucks.

I think GLM 5.3 is the go-to for this stuff at the moment. Minimal refusals. So you would just RE the thing you want with GLM 5.3 until you have a standalone project, then if you wanted switch to another mainstream provider to continue from there and it wouldn't have any problems.

There are so many abliterated models available right now that it’s tough to see what the strategy could look like for Anthropic. When I have a project that I even suspect could get a rejection, I just run it locally now. Even if Claude says it won’t reject it, I don’t chance it. I may pass of some parts to Opus but the majority of it is local with local agents. What does that do for Anthropic? Well, what I would have needed a $200 subscription to run, I can accomplish with the $20 subscription. Not sure how they plan to make enough money to cover expenses with those usage patterns.

Note that a lot of IT stuff is much cheaper on-premise in very short timelines, but still businesses throw money at subscriptions for it anyway.
