Its kinda wild how "tell, dont show" is the norm for website design. So many websites have a splash page where they explain what they're about and how they're about it and who they're about it for and how you can be about it with them, instead of just... Being about it. If 4chan was made today it would have a splash page explaining how it's a page made by right-wing groypers for pedophiles, chuds and a handful of trans people for some reason, and it would have you scroll several pages where you got explained what a "post" is with vague language next to pictures of racially diverse friend groups in trendy bars. It would probably call itself a social experience

Web design peaked in 1999. It went downhill from Geocities.

I've said it before and I'll say it many times again, (CW suicide cult material) heavensgate.com is the pinnacle of web design.

Who is keeping that website alive?

There's a couple in Arizona who were members of the cult and remained 'behind' to keep the message alive

wholesome good to see not everyone is embracing today's f-u-got-mine attitude

Desktop UI's in general peaked in 2009. Everything since then has just been faffing about.

don't worry everyone, UI scaling will be fully implemented and stable in 20 years

Microsoft is working hard to reduce feature and stability parity to match linux.

You see the one of the left was designed to be used, the one of the right is designed to have 9.5 screens of advertising

Left definitely isn't 2015. It's more like 2008. 2015 web design already had carousels and mobile buttons.

sqlite.org vs tigerbeetle.com

Yeah, it's 2026 unfortunately.

Not awful but definitely harder than it needs to be for what is essentially, if I’m understanding, a tutorial book in HTML
