This image speaks volumes. "We will continue the genocide in Gaza at all costs," for example.

[–] ccunning@lemmy.world 23 points 1 month ago (2 children)

I’m starting to think this is just a giant money laundering scheme.

Give Federal money and resources
Receive large campaign contributions and Super PAC donations

[–] Coldcell@sh.itjust.works 15 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Only problem I have with this is your inclusion of "starting to". It is, always has been.

Pretty sure there's a picture of Obama doing this too. It's just being respectful while performing diplomacy. Sure, you can argue that this shouldn't happen with Israel, but cherry picking R's doing this and ignoring ALL OF THE D's that did it too is just dishonest. This is misinformation.

[–] ameancow@lemmy.world 51 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

yeah and Obama was also a cuck for Israel for doing it. I agree we should show ALL of our leaders at the cucking-wall.

All our leadership are cucks for Israel and it is in fact, very weird.

Yes, we need bases and support in the middle-east, sure, makes sense. But it's ridiculous to think there's been no other way to exert political will in the region. Let's just admit that our country is a corporation and it's very profitable to have a reliable weapon-buyer and test-bed for all our new gadgets and killing tools.

You mean the guy who sent like 30 billion dollars in weapons to Israel for free?

There are plenty of things politicians do to be diplomatic, this is just one of them.

[–] geneva_convenience@lemmy.ml 26 points 1 month ago (3 children)

Perform a religious prayer of a religion they don't adhere to?

This is not normal whatsoever.

[–] FireRetardant@lemmy.world 35 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Trump swears by the bible but doesn't adhere to it, how is this any different?

[–] geneva_convenience@lemmy.ml 16 points 1 month ago (8 children)

He doesn't pretend to be Jewish.

It's common for Christian politicians to visit other religious sites such as mosques or synagogues. But actively performing a prayer is a completely different matter.

Dude, that describes like 90% of Christianity.

[–] Wazowski@lemmy.world 11 points 1 month ago

There’s “normal” and there’s “politician normal”. Let’s also not forget that all this religious bullshit was started to make it easier for politicians to control people.

[–] ccunning@lemmy.world 21 points 1 month ago

Yeah this seems like one of the least weird things these professional weirdos have done…

[–] mrdown@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago

You don't see those people prsy in a mosque is saudi arabia or sny other arab country

God. I know it's the pettiest and least on-topic thing about these photos but... That god-damn weird-ass Trump centaur stance... At all times. Always. Centaur stance. I hope it's physically painful for him to stand like that. I hope it hurts every day that he has to get up and walk.

[–] Wolf314159@startrek.website 8 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I don't want "Trump centaur stance" in my search history, please explain wtf you're talking about.

[–] burntbacon@discuss.tchncs.de 14 points 1 month ago

Look at any photograph of him. He does this weird leaning forward thing (which some people take to be indicative of a certain type of disorder) that happens to make him look like a centaur would if you cut off the front legs and human torso into a human shape. See here

[–] Jerb322@lemmy.world 29 points 1 month ago (4 children)

Why is Trump and Vance wearing a yamaka?

[–] Wazowski@lemmy.world 38 points 1 month ago (4 children)

Respect for religious beliefs. That is the Western Wall, a remnant of the 2nd holy temple in Jerusalem. Mind you, it’s all a bunch of fairy tale bullshit, like every religion.

Mike Johnson is wearing one too but it's less visible.

[–] bus_factor@lemmy.world 15 points 1 month ago

It's required attire for touching the western wall.

Honest question, but isn't that kinda disrespectful tp Judaism? They are now Jewish, they don't believe on the Jewish beliefs, are not the hat religious?

I'm Jewish, and I think it is.

not because they aren't Jewish, I welcome everyone to visit that place (just wait for apartheid to end before you go there), but because they are using the most religious place as a photo-op to appease genocidal lobbyists.

[–] PastaCannon@lemmy.ml 37 points 1 month ago (42 children)

Can we PLEASE PLEASE stop treating judaism like it’s a special religion? I can mock christians all day, every day, why the different treatment for jews?

[–] IAmNorRealTakeYourMeds@lemmy.world 12 points 1 month ago (9 children)

rule of thumb. it's ok to punch upwards and laterally in comedy,

given that Christianity is basically the default state religion in most developed countries, making fun of it is sort of punching upwards.

but unless you're part of the minority, it's likely you'll say some really stupid stuff if you make fun of said minority and it'll likely sound hateful and ignorant.

and to make it clear. those politicians are zionists, they are doing it to appease their AIPAC donor. they are not Jewish and do not support jews or their communities. look how the only loud antizionist politician in the US has the support of his Jewish constituents.

Do you start to see it? Americans, please for the love of god, tell me you see it.

[–] BleatingZombie@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago

Unfortunately, those of us in the comments have likely seen it from the beginning

The rest refuse to see anything

[–] theacharnian@lemmy.ca 15 points 1 month ago (1 children)

If they conflate Judaism and Zionism, I don't see why our condemnation of that conflation should follow the same path.

So no, it's not weird. I have no problem with anyone paying respect to the Jewish religion.

Ps. Free Palestine.

[–] geneva_convenience@lemmy.ml 20 points 1 month ago (7 children)

Sure but this is not paying respect, it's performing a prayer in a religion they don't adhere to.

Did he find a crevice to put his hand in?

[–] StupidBrotherInLaw@lemmy.world 19 points 1 month ago

The wall is too old for him to be interested in penetrating it.

[–] cabillaud@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago

This post is weird

[–] Gates9@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 month ago

It’s not even where the temple was located. They’re worshipping an ancient Roman garrison.

[–] vaultdweller013@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 month ago

I don't really give a crap about the ceremonial bullshit of this stupid wall, but it does look like a good wall to piss on.
