"when" being too late to make any difference. This has been an issue since 1948, but if you wait until there are no Palestinians left then your words don't require action.

The decision to recognise Palestine is easy. The hard part is which borders do you recognise, what are you going to do to support their sovereignty. Its such cucked position to dance around occupied territory. Like Crimea, at this point its russia because Ukraine is never getting it back and it makes the west look weak to claim its Ukrainian territory. The same will happen in Gaza if the borders are not agreed upon by all sides.
Look how much face has been lost by the international world order now that everyone realises you can just ignore it and no one will actually do anything.
Helen Clark saying "It would be unlikely that Hamas would play any role in post-war governance of Gaza" is basically a statement that says we're going to let isreal do whatever it takes to achieve their aims. Its realistic but its not popular with a lot of people and I think most people in government hold this view secretly.
Borders are never going to be agreed by upon by all sides. They have to be imposed I am afraid.

Oh man the entire western world helped Israel commit genocide and protected it when people decided to protest and take action.
A shameful period in the annals of humanity. At least we fought the Nazis, not help them.
