Huh, weird. who could have guessed acting like a douche would make people hate you? It's almost as if everyone could see this coming.
A natural reaction to their anti-world actions. Non-idiots could foresee this.
I don't support fascist regimes, I have completely changed the way I do my groceries. and saving money in the process.
Same here. If I don't want to do research, I just pick the store brand of whatever I'm buying. It's usually the cheapest anyway and quality varies from exactly the same to passable. So far only the cold-brew tea and the artifical sweetener were really not acceptable, but non-American alternatives exist for both.
Wow its like US culture was only held up by goodwill from USAID, NIH, and weapons donations to ukraine and it turns out people think the US is otherwise a bunch of billionaire sex perverts and their wage slaves when you dismantle those things.
Easy solution: Don't be a dick to regular humans and human rights and the Anti-American Sentiment will fade.
You were always the front-runner for democracy and peace, but making a 180 since january all of a sudden is, yeah, not chillaxt at all... Youknow?

Well, electing a strongman politician while abolishing goodwill programs that project soft power tends to have consequences for your economy. Mostly negative consequences, but hey, at least you get to wear a red ballcap that says your country is the bestest ever and all other countries suck mud, right?
I have been living and working in Asia for over 20 years. The anti-American sentiment is the highest now compared to any other time in the last 20 years.

Is there an up to date list of brands and companies that supported trump/maga?
I tried using publicsquare just now to search again but it seems like they took away the ability to do so, probably to stop people from boycotting fascism. And other searches don’t really bring up such lists (mostly just articles talking about the most prominent companies that are well known to have bent the knee).
I'm not making any such distinction... I just go "if brand is USA, then buy = no"

Lemmy has a lot more Chinese tankies than other social media platforms (proportionately), plus a lot of people who think that being anti us must mean being pro china.

All the gigantic tech corpos I have to deal with are American. I was having anti american sentiments before the orange dictator, but they sure are at an all time high.
I think that Coke know that, that's because in Mexico there is a logo 
in every coke.
In Germany, Coke has put on a large "Made in Germany by insert funny name" campaign.

I know the Canadians are pissed, but are all y'all's peers on other continents mostly... indifferent? I guess it's egotistical to assume people generally follow American news, but some of it really seems hard to ignore.
The effects are definitely felt in Germany as well. It started (or can so far be traceable in the news) with Tesla. Not sure about any other sentiment, but I genuinely wouldn't be surprised. This is the first time there's news about things other than Tesla.
But yeah, I personally started going more for European products and that is also the policies pushed by some European countries atm. It might be a coincidence, but I switched away from MAMMA where I could (with Win10 support running out, I went over to Linux, I. e.; or I switched my default browser away from chrome and search engine away from google).
Here in Europe I know plenty of people who avoid American stuff where possible.
lots of folks in my circle also boycotting american products and services. in the cross hairs here are Amazon, Google, any american food, booze, clothing, cars, etc. Most in my circle dont watch american news. its depressing to see a country descend into third world status so quickly
My aim is currently at big tech and food conglomerates specifically. I still have a soft spot for small businesses and B Corps from the US. If they go out of business, then all that's left are the corpos.
I feel like the people who would avoid those brands were already avoiding them because they're crap. A lot of people don't care, don't understand, or generally support trump. ~ England

I'm high and I'm craving Doritos. But I can't have Doritos because they're American (yeah, yeah, technically I can but I won't). Fuck Trump for taking away my Doriotos. At least I have Lays
Leave the Lays on the shelves too, that's as American as Doritos. same mother company. Sadly Croky is also American (Pepsico is the owner of that brand)

If they only hadn't thrown money at Trumps campaign. And what are they doing now? Kissing his ass and throwing money at him to get on his good side. Totally ignoring that he has none.
The American't boycotting will continue until they have their own little-engine-that-could revolution, kick the fascism to the curb, and adjust the perception of their own importance and contributions to the world.
It might even last a little longer than all that. The message must be understood.
I will personally never set foot in that cursed country again in my life.
