To be clear, when Christian Nationalists refer to "anti-christian bias," they mean when people push back using the freedom of religion that grants everyone the right to decide how they want to live.

They think they should be able to torture gay kids until they pretend to be straight.

They think they should be able to determine what gender a kid will live as.

They think that evolution should be removed from the curriculum and be replaced by just-so stories in the Bible.

They think that atheists and Muslims shouldn't be able to hold public office.

They think that divorce should be illegal, and that women should be brood-mares for the man who owns them.

They think that women should not pursue education or careers, as that is the domain of men.

Welcome to christofascism, America! As a Spaniard, I can tell you lots of good things about it. Franco was such a nice guy!

[–] Lembot_0004@discuss.online 2 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Religion was mandatory in those times?

Catholic church supported (and still does) Franco because he made catholicism a main part of his policies. So yeah, pretty much.

[–] watson387@sopuli.xyz 32 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Sounds like a good way to create enormous anti-Christian bias.

[–] Gradually_Adjusting@lemmy.world 35 points 3 months ago (1 children)

That's exactly what Christians want most, ever since Rome adopted the faith - to be in a position of power over a perceived tormentor, and to exact vengeance on them. Christians do not care about the biblical Jesus at all, they do not follow his commands and they sincerely hope you do not know enough scripture to point out how they contradict almost everything he said.

I've never been a Christian, but there you have it. They are desperate to have people hate Christianity so that they have a target to rally against.

The only way they can get hard is through persecution fantasy roleplay.

[–] Gradually_Adjusting@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Best not to lend them a hand then, eh?

[–] betterdeadthanreddit@lemmy.world 14 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Counterpoint: fuck 'em. Give them the rejection they so desire and don't stop until it's socially unacceptable to bring it up in public. Want to have a religion as an adult? Cool, do it privately or be exposed to public ridicule for taking silly fairy tales seriously.

Want to have a religion as an adult? Cool, do it privately

Like it says in their bible -- Matthew 6:6 But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

I do to the ones who push that garbage in my face locally

"However, anti-Islam shall be mandated by Executive Order...", the rapist continued.

Every church ive ever been in talked about anti--christian bias.

Guess we know Trump doesn't go to church.

Sadly the people who do will fall for this nonsense anyway.

Anti-Christian bias followed by not being Christian and then not being Christian enough. At least pretend to hide it.

Hey, member that time everyone was all like "o noes Harris supports teh genoside! nevar vote!" and everybody was all like, well then it's trump for you and they go "better than genoside!" and then it was all this plus double the genocide.

[–] IndustryStandard@lemmy.world 7 points 3 months ago (2 children)

I too remember when the DNC decided committing genocide was more important than beating Trump. Hope you are happy with their decision!

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago (2 children)

I’m pretty sure they voted at least.

[–] BrainInABox@lemmy.ml 1 points 3 months ago

"Sure, they committed genocide; the worst and most unforgivable crime, but at least they voted!"

BlueMAGA liberals are deranged.

[–] IndustryStandard@lemmy.world -4 points 3 months ago (1 children)
[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Yeah. The DNC voted for trump. 🙄

[–] IndustryStandard@lemmy.world -2 points 3 months ago (1 children)

They have the same donors. It would not surprise me.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

Then remind me to sell you some bridges. Best price! Big impress!

[–] Droggelbecher@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

To clarify, is this supposed to be an argument against the comment you replied to? Cause both you and the above comment are right.

[–] IndustryStandard@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

No they are not wrong. They blame the voters instead of the DNC.

[–] Droggelbecher@lemmy.world -1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I'm saying both are to be blamed. The powers that be for not giving an option to vote against genocide, and the deliberate non-voters for enabling Trump's victory.

[–] IndustryStandard@lemmy.world -5 points 3 months ago (4 children)

No only the DNC is blame worthy.

Voters who abstained did the right thing. No votes for genocide.

[–] Droggelbecher@lemmy.world 8 points 3 months ago (3 children)

Hope the very real human lives you've decided to condone sacrificing for your principles was worth it.

[–] corsicanguppy@lemmy.ca 3 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Weird how it was their principles but others paid the price. Why don't they just admit they chose a nap over harm reduction? Given the known correlation between lower voter turnout and crueler candidates winning, should they just admit they abstained so there'd be more genocide?

[–] BrainInABox@lemmy.ml -1 points 3 months ago

Your daily reminder that BlueMAGA liberals do not consider Palestinians to be "real humans".

[–] IndustryStandard@lemmy.world -2 points 3 months ago (2 children)

Hope the very real human lives you’ve decided to condone sacrificing for your lack of principles was worth it.

[–] Droggelbecher@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I'm not American and this wouldn't even make sense if I were

[–] IndustryStandard@lemmy.world -3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Consider not commenting smugly on politics you do not understand.

[–] CarrmynCarnage@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I've lived here my whole ass life and I don't know wtf you're going on about. You're not a hero for not filling out a ballot. You did nothing. You don't get to pat yourself on the back for doing nothing. Doing the right thing? You had a choice and you chose nothing. You are the problem, and you dare pose yourself and others like you as the solution. Disgusting behavior.

[–] IndustryStandard@lemmy.world 0 points 3 months ago

You can stop being proud of your support for genocide now. You already lost with it once.

[–] kkj@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 3 months ago

Who would have died under Harris but was saved under Trump?

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 5 points 3 months ago

this says it all.

[–] CarrmynCarnage@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 3 months ago (2 children)

Thanks. Ill remember your apathy fondly when a boot is on the back of my neck.

[–] IndustryStandard@lemmy.world 0 points 3 months ago

You should remember your own apathy for genocide instead.

[–] BrainInABox@lemmy.ml -3 points 3 months ago

Likewise, we remember your selfishness in the face of the modern holocaust.

[–] HertzDentalBar@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 3 months ago

Hope you're a white American, cause otherwise you might be in for a bad time.

The right thing isn't always the smart thing.
