MODERATORS

Ohio Rep.Michael Rulli appeared on Maria Bartiromo's Fox Business News show to say he is appalled at Democrats' rhetoric, which needs to be "toned down." The Ohio Republican must never have seen Trump's tweets or Truth Social posts before. He should check in on that! Or when Donald said in Iowa in July that he "hates" Democrats, saying, "I cannot stand them." Or how about Jan. 6th, when Trump incited a mob of his supporters to attack the US Capitol to cling to power.

Rulli discussed the Charlie Kirk shooting, the only school shooting Republicans have cared about. The Turning Point co-founder seems even more powerful to Republicans after his death, as they use it to silence the opposition. His widow started fundraising days after his death, despite Charlie's $12 million net worth.

I don't do commands, how about you fuck off.

You mean constantly calling for his imprisonment and murder?

[–] Krauerking@lemy.lol 60 points 9 hours ago

Rulli discussed the Charlie Kirk shooting, the only school shooting Republicans have cared about.

That line hits so hard.

[–] Octavio@lemmy.world 15 points 7 hours ago

The same respect they showed Biden? As much as I hate Trump, I don’t think I could ever treat him that badly.

[–] mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca 32 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

I know his comment is directed at Democrats in office, not the general populace, but since he brought up Charlie Kirk: Charlie Kirk called for Biden to be executed while he was president.

is THAT the respect you want shown to Trump? because right now you're making lists of people saying things far less offensive

[–] jballs@sh.itjust.works 12 points 6 hours ago

A nice-time Charlie Kirk quote: "Joe Biden is a bumbling, dementia filled, alzheimer's, corrupt tyrant who should honestly be put in prison and or given the death penalty for his crimes against America."

Yeah definitely need to rise to their level of respect. /s

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 26 points 9 hours ago

Sorry but Trump has to earn respect and that ship sailed a long time ago.

[–] TheObviousSolution@lemmy.ca 14 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 8 hours ago) (1 children)

So ... he's asking for Democrats to January 6th?

[–] blattrules@lemmy.world 62 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Brb gonna buy a gigantic sticker of Trump tied up and gagged to put on the back of my car to make it look like he’s in the trunk.

[–] Localhorst86@feddit.org 10 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

Is the back of your car big enough?

[–] blattrules@lemmy.world 18 points 10 hours ago

Definitely for his hands. Not for his gut.

[–] ABetterTomorrow@sh.itjust.works 22 points 11 hours ago

So wear a weird white fuzzy dress in yell at the president like a lunatic nonstop like MTG did?

[–] MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world 7 points 8 hours ago

Fuck that Cheeto chimp pedophile.

Release the Trump/Epstein files

[–] bitjunkie@lemmy.world 3 points 7 hours ago (1 children)
[–] nomy@lemmy.zip 6 points 6 hours ago

I'm more for "ok"

Then we can start talking about "the Trump crime family" and how he sniffs little girls hair.

[–] StrawberryPigtails@lemmy.sdf.org 42 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

Sooo.... I'm to treat him with no respect at all? Gotcha!

Booing? Jeering when he talks? Insulting him? Lying about basic and easily fact checked things? Posting stickers all over the place, blaming President "Taco" for things that are not remotely under his control? Can do.

Sorry, my memory is a bit better than the average Republican voter, but I'm sure there are even more "respectful" things I've forgotten.

Fuck off.

[–] Tolookah@discuss.tchncs.de 17 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Don't forget about the fjb bumper stickers and the whole "let's go Brandon"

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 20 points 12 hours ago

Gaslighting is the conservative way

Probably, but I’d like to see the proof. And then show it to everyone else on earth.

  1. Boo Trump loudly when he talks.
  2. Call him Demented Don.
  3. Consistently threaten Don that you'll leave your post, reject anything he proposes regardless of how it'll help every day Americans
[–] Sc00ter@lemmy.zip 24 points 11 hours ago

Dont forget that you should get a sticker as big as the tailgate on your truck that looks like you have him bound and gagged in the bed of your truck!

[–] INHALE_VEGETABLES@aussie.zone 5 points 10 hours ago

We are rolling with droopy don now

[–] primrosepathspeedrun@anarchist.nexus 28 points 17 hours ago (4 children)

Pretend he's not wearing pants. Just refer to his lack of pants and slobbery pronunciation constantly

[–] bobs_monkey@lemmy.zip 22 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

Nevermind refer to him as sleepy or crooked in any official address as a matter of habit.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 6 points 13 hours ago

poopy diaper don.

  1. Accuse everyone else in his administration of elder abuse
[–] DaedalousIlios@pawb.social 48 points 16 hours ago

Wow! Look at that: Republicans and Leftists want Democrats to do the same thing for once: treating Trump with less respect!

[–] abcdqfr@lemmy.world 3 points 9 hours ago

I COMMAND DEMS TO EAT MY SWOLLEN COCKEN BALLS. SEE HOW THAT WORKS?!

[–] tal@olio.cafe 55 points 18 hours ago* (last edited 18 hours ago) (3 children)

Have Trump act like Biden did.

George W. Bush was a Republican president and didn't get anything like the flak that Trump does. He also didn't behave like Trump does.

[–] Archangel1313@lemmy.ca 38 points 16 hours ago

Oh, man...remember when GW was the dumbest president, ever? Oh, if we only knew what was yet to come. Trump makes him look like a Rhodes scholar.

[–] Aatube@kbin.melroy.org 28 points 17 hours ago (2 children)

He did lie a lot and rip up quite a bit of international relations things though

[–] ouRKaoS@lemmy.today 8 points 11 hours ago (2 children)

But he rolls 20's when he has to dodge a shoe

[–] Octavio@lemmy.world 2 points 7 hours ago

Oh, man. I remember that. I hated shrub but I had to tip my hat then. That was genuinely impressive. I felt the same way when Wendy Deng protected Rupert from the pie.

[–] LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.world 1 points 7 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago)

And when he went to throw the first pitch during the world series after 9/11. At Yankees stadium he was told he would be boo'd of the field if he threw from the front of the pitch like most celebrities do, and then threw a pitch better than near any I've seen since. Looking at you 50 cent.

Bush was a cheerleader I believe, he knew how to shrug off people laughing at him.

It's sad that I want W back. It would still be a massive upgrade, though

[–] stoy@lemmy.zip 20 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

When I see old GWB footage I see a US president, trying to do what he believes is best for the nation, I disagree with him on plenty of stuff, but I don't question his commitment.

When I see current Trump footage, I don't see a president, I see either toddler throwing his toys (the US, the US citizens, and the federal government) at the wall and stomping on them, or a stupid spiteful man who is trying desperately to destroy any kind of liberty outside of the weird US conservative sphere.

[–] Bronzebeard@lemmy.zip 5 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Can we not whitewash the atrocities that WBush put on this nation? Is Trump worse? yes. But Bush paved the way for the shit that he's doing.

He lied is into multiple 2-decades long wars that cost us trillions of dollars could have helped everyone in the US have a better life, 10s of thousands of lives lost. He vastly expanded the domestic surveillance apparatus that is plaguing us now. He ushered in the worst economic collapse in a century, them used that crisis to funnel more money to the rich who caused it.

[–] stoy@lemmy.zip 2 points 7 hours ago

Oh, I absolutely agree with you, GWB was not a good man, but he knew how to act presidential, you didn't have to be completely embarrassed when you saw him on TV.

[–] FistingEnthusiast@lemmynsfw.com 38 points 18 hours ago

If conservatives didn't have double standards, they'd have no standards at all

[–] MyOpinion@lemmy.today 26 points 18 hours ago (2 children)

Trump deserves the respect of a giant stinking turd.
