Meanwhile in NZ charges have been filed against Hello Fresh for alleged misleading behavior and re-activating accounts without consent.

Make sure to not just cancel, but remove your credit card info so they can't charge your card anyway. Disney+ tried that on me.

In the UK, you can phone the bank and ask them to block Netflix payments. Some banks even let you do that from their app already. Its called a recurring card payment. Just changing your card (for instance reporting the card lost) doesn't work cos all banks helpfully tell Netflix your new card numbers to save you the hassle. You don't even have to let Netflix know at all.
