Well, submitted my vote for the Dutch elections. It will be Bij1 which is I think the closest we can get to actual socialist voices.

Funny thing though is that when I did a quiz to see who I should vote for, they were not my number 1 but rather 5 or something like that. I had a 80% match. The Green/Labour fusion was my actual nummer one apparently. My gf, who is less involved in politics than I am, did get a 92% match with Bij1 lol.

[–] KrupskayaPraxis@lemmygrad.ml 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Thank you for voting for my party! I hope we'll get into parliament again. I've been so busy with campaigning.

[–] SlayGuevara@lemmygrad.ml 5 points 2 days ago

I hope so too. It would be a much needed voice on the left.

[–] Mzuark@lemmygrad.ml 4 points 2 days ago

Seeing a lot of grown ass men really upset about this new Power Rangers project.

[–] KrupskayaPraxis@lemmygrad.ml 5 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Is it an idea for PSL or the Green Party to campaign during No Kings? There's probably some disillusioned democratic voters or non voters that can be persuaded.

[–] Cowbee@lemmygrad.ml 6 points 2 days ago

PSL's stance on the matter has consistently been to try to use them as good opportunities for agitating for more, and for recruitment.

[–] SlayGuevara@lemmygrad.ml 5 points 2 days ago

Saw PSL at a lot of protests on Instagram so they are at least there

[–] GrainEater@lemmygrad.ml 6 points 2 days ago

of course, they have to take any opportunities they can, and these "protests" are just letting people vent their anger without actually questioning capitalism

[–] CommieBeetle@lemmygrad.ml 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Does anyone have that meme image of a nazi eagle that says something like "Democrats are left wing" with the left wing of the eagle circled?

Close enough. Thanks!

The leaves are changing their clothes, the cool autumnal air is flowing. A lot of changes are coming to my life, rather quickly, and it's fitting that it coincides with the changing of the seasons in such a dramatic and all-too-quick fashion. Sometimes life has a real poetry to it. Remembering that, and being present for it, helps keep us steadfast when times are tough and the road uncertain.

[–] CommonTern@lemmygrad.ml 5 points 3 days ago (2 children)

I was told recently by an anarchist that communists constantly call the police on anarchists and "peace police" their actions (i.e. redirect them towards nonviolence). What's the truth to that? Has anyone seen that happen? Is this story just something that gets spread around because it feels correct?

[–] Commiejones@lemmygrad.ml 11 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Feds tell their pet trots the same sort of stories about anarchists. "Don't work with anarchists because they always start doing random acts of violence which alienate the working class."

Real comrades would never do that. This is a FBI talking point that they inserted into anarkiddy orgs. A trot might call cops on anarchists do because trots are all feds or fed adjacent.

You should question the person who told you that where they heard that and if they have any evidence. and then give them the third degree for spreading fbi lies. Do this in a group setting. You might get purged but that better than working with fib infiltrated groups.

[–] pyromaiden@lemmygrad.ml 6 points 2 days ago

Because of the complicated history between Anarchists and Communists it's not uncommon for both groups (yes, we're guilty of this too) to just jump at each others' throats simply out of blind pettiness. Infiltrators use the very real sore spots between us to spread disinfo and keep the hate going and comrades who don't know any better end up subconsciously repeating their lies while fully believing them.

The greatest enemy of the Anarchist is not the Communist and vice-versa; enlightened comrades understand this. Anyone on the "Left" trying to start beef like this is either an outright plant or is mistakenly spreading fed talking points and it's important to confront these behaviors whenever they're encountered.

Communists are not against violence; we are against pointless violence like terrorism, adventurism, etc. We can celebrate when Luigi pops a health insurance CEO but that doesn't mean we think this is the best way to bring change. Some Anarchists disagree, but the more well-read ones tend to know better. You might be able to chalk this one up to just being a misunderstanding at best.

No Communist is going to call the cops on anyone else. That one's just a straight up lie. There are very few instances where a Communist would ever be motivated to willfully call law enforcement and almost all of them involve clearing their own name of any wrongdoing; not siccing the pigs on people they don't like out of pettiness. Accusing Communists of calling the cops on you sounds just as ridiculous as accusing Anarchists of doing it. Anarchists and Communists have more in common with each other than some would care to admit and that includes attitudes toward the police.

As a personal anecdote I've met more self-described "Anarchists" (usually actually just liberals who like the punk aesthetic) that promoted non-violence. I've met exactly one "Communist" who was openly pacifistic and, suffice to say, they were still quite new to Marxism and had some misgivings about what it aimed to achieve.

So in a completely unsurprising turn of events Belgium has to follow strict EU budget cut rules.

EXCEPT FOR DEFENSE SPENDING. Which can be kept outside of the entire budget. For four more years.

So for four more years we can spend whatever we want on defense. But have to do budget cuts all around.

In four years we have elections. And with budget cuts done by neolibs there is a chance of getting some sort of left wing government then due to public outrage. Which in turn has no spending room because then defense spending gets taken into budget.

[–] NotMushroomForDebate@lemmygrad.ml 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

What do you think the situation in the EU is gearing up towards in the next 4 years? At some point something has to budge. If I have a right read on it, the further right parties in EU countries aren't super thrilled with the defence spending, further deindustrialisation, and worsening relations with Russia regarding Ukraine and the energy crisis.

I haven't seen much that gives me hope that the left would be able to capitalise on this more than already-popular far-right parties. I'm not very familiar with the situation in countries like Belgium and the Netherlands though.

[–] SlayGuevara@lemmygrad.ml 8 points 3 days ago

While some right wing parties are against increased spending I don't think that will stop it. If I look at The Netherlands virtually every party is in favor of increased spending of some sort. Even PVV. And in countries where the far right is against, there is always the option of excluding them from governments.

More important is that the EU itself is heavily in favor of increased spending and ultimately they decide what their members states can and cannot do. So even if you as a member state go against the EU policy, you will face their consequences.

For The Netherlands I don't have much hope. Even the left wing parties are in favor of increased spendings. Unions don't really seems to make a fuss. For Belgium I have some more hope. Our party is heavily against and at least we have a good sized following. Unions are very vocally against it too. On Tuesday we had 140k people marching in Brussels against austerity and increased defense spending.

Thoughts on the new Malagasy president? Is he a new Traoré or a western puppet?

[–] SlayGuevara@lemmygrad.ml 16 points 5 days ago (4 children)

There's this Dutch streamer who makes mostly Goofy reaction vids and for some reason he went into climate policies and his chat went: 'but China pollutes so much!'

And his response was how China is the factory of the world and not only that but they invest the most in green energy, and should be allowed to have some more pollution for being, you know, our factory.

And I was like what the hell is this pro China talk doing outside of my commie bubble all of a sudden. Is change upon us?

[–] bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml 10 points 4 days ago

a reasonable view on china? in this economy!?

[–] Commiejones@lemmygrad.ml 11 points 5 days ago

Reality has a pro-communist Bias. People who are not careful can accidentally spread communism by stating facts.

Is this another instance of Quantitative changes finally turning into Qualitative ones?

🤩

[–] SlayGuevara@lemmygrad.ml 10 points 4 days ago

So the people rioting in Brussel at the protest the other day are said to be linked to the former CCC, a 'communist' terrorist group from years ago who did terror attacks. CCC has always been suspected to be a part of Operation Gladio.

It could literally he a psyop.

Went to a trans group therapy session and met many great people there; first great session.

This was yesterday.

What's up with the Hasan dog abuse thing? I don't follow him but it keeps popping up.

[–] 666@lemmygrad.ml 3 points 2 days ago

I don't watch Hasan, I don't follow streamers; I think most of them are annoying and inherently have to dim down/water down their messages because of the platforms they exist on. I can still tell though that this is a pretty solid psyop because of how much traction it gains. It feels like it got more traction than Asmongold and that is fucking saying something because those are the two streamers I really know anything about.

[–] bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml 10 points 5 days ago (1 children)

its a whole nothingburger, just insane people trying to make up slander.

[–] cfgaussian@lemmygrad.ml 4 points 4 days ago

Yeah. I don't even like Hasan and i could immediately tell it was a coordinated Zionist campaign against him.

Hasan allegedly used a shock collar on his dog on stream, and chuds are clinging onto this to discredit his views.

I don't know if he really did/does or not, but in the video clip of the supposed shocking, it looks to me like Kaya (his dog) stubbed her foot on her platform during the moment she yelped.

I had my first day of trans group therapy session.

So far, so great.

I don't know when I'll start HRT but the deadline I set myself is the end of next year for when I start.

80 years ago today the Communist Party of North Korea was founded, which eventually went on the become the ruling Workers' Party. Glory to the DPRK.
