This show of force, welcomed by some Palestinians after months of lawlessness, could now threaten the fragile ceasefire, especially as all living hostages from Hamas’s 7 October 2023 attack have been released.

The Hamas-run police maintained a high degree of public security after the militants seized power in Gaza 18 years ago while also cracking down on dissent. They largely melted away in recent months as Israeli forces seized large areas of Gaza and targeted Hamas security forces with airstrikes.

This whole conflict has been like watching a video from halfway around the world of a child molester mercilessly punch and kick the unconscious body of a second child molester after he hit the first one in the face. And then having a bunch of people ask "which child molester do you support?" who then get really upset and confused when you say neither, that you consider them both to be monsters, and don't really care if either, or both, of them die.

we have absolutely zero concept of what its like to live in a wartorn bombed out, active warzone. we can assume Hamas is awful, but this article paints Palestinians we the same brush. uhm. the civilians in this genocide don't have the privilege of "options" . this article is for westerners only who get manipulated to believe things. The probably sourced 3 propoganda tiktok videos as "some palestinians"

Hamas is awful based on what exactly? It is a government like any government with the extra of being in the largest open prison since they got elected..

[–] Squeebah@lemmy.today 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Ah yes, murdering and raping 1200 people in a matter of hours is nowhere near awful...

You are right only when you read news from the genocide entity who failed to even produce any credible evidence of systemic rape, then we find out they killed their own out right and then we find a long list of documented rape of Palestinian in prisons...

Edit: I am surprise how you didn't add "beheaded babies" and "babies in oven" ...

It's pure racism. Decades of propaganda has trained people to see violence by Muslims as different from violence from other groups. People here have no issue with Ukraine torturing and executing Russian collaborators, but when Arabs do it they're seen as violent savages who've been hypnotized into ultra-violence by their primitive religion.

Which 'race' is muslim?

Do you believe all Arabs have the same or a religion?

[–] BCBoy911@lemmy.ca 1 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (1 children)

I'm not sure what you're asking, but the average American racist for sure thinks all Arabs are Muslim. Usually their Islamophobia is actually anti-Arab racism, as they aren't nearly as bigoted towards Indonesian or Chinese Muslims.

Ok thanks! Just that your post seemed to imply that they were mostly against muslims/islam
