People who commit serious crimes should not be in line to possibly become king. I know being king of England doesn't mean much these days and I know the chances of him becoming king are slim, but still certain actions should disqualify you from having even a slim chance of becoming nominal head of a country

Most people give up 10-25 years of their life to a prison cell, but whatever.

Unless they're in positions of power or prestige

Ooh! The grand old Duke of York, he had underage sex, he flew them out to Epstein Island and he flew them back again!

He’s the same person who did the same things. Difference is he feels he can no longer get away with it. Bet before he definitely did

Developments? You mean exposure of being a nonce who abuses his position given to him through nepotism.

This read like he's just attempt escape by giving up something as a distraction.

Her memoir is being released posthumously on October 21. My guess is the prince recognizes he'll be in the spotlight again so is bowing out.

I saw an article about it before hearing about this, about Andrew feeling entitled about raping her

[–] Venus_Ziegenfalle@feddit.org 11 points 1 week ago

So he's just Andy Windsor the nonce now?

Oh no! Must be horrible for him! No prison sentence, still a shit load of money, no further consequences. No title (but still a prince? Why) is the worst punishment out there, not even a pedo deserves such a harsh sentence.

This still shouldn‘t be the end for him or the other remaining Epatein-buddies… still some golden spoons left for the Prince of York and no justice for the victims.

[–] amorpheus@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

This isn't for him, it's for the Crown so they can get some distance. I'd say too little too late, but we will see how the public will react.

That'll show 'em! Case closed!

If Prince Andrew can give up his title then surely King Don can give up the Epstein files. Let's do this before he uses nukes as a deflection from the Epstein files.

convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

I didn't think he made it to trial. Did I miss something?

Is the POS still getting paid? Yes? Fuck that guy

[–] Gates9@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 week ago

Why do these guys still walk around with military uniforms and medals lol. Does a lapel pin or a ribbon or something not suffice?
