Hm let’s check the cattle production statistics to check this

https://esmis.nal.usda.gov/concern/publications/h702q636h

Oh huh weird that’s the link from “cattle” stats but sure… let’s search up cattle info from September before the shutdown…

https://ers.usda.gov/sites/default/files/_laserfiche/outlooks/113406/LDP-M-375.pdf?v=41436

Oh total exports down 9%…. Total imports UP 30%

Yeah… I’m sure that’s… good…

You mean to tell me that Trump is wrong and the opposite of what he said is actually correct? That checks out.

He even lies about the reason for the 50% tariff on Brazil. It wasn't due to the trade deficit, as the US has had a trade surplus with Brazil for many years (https://www.upi.com/Top_News/World-News/2025/10/17/brazil-exports-fall-us-traiffs/3781760711705/).

It was purely politically motivated, as right around the time that the tariff was about to be placed, Bolsonaro's son, whose dad was in the process of being judged for his treason and attempted murder attempts, went to the US to cry about it with Trump. (https://www.france24.com/en/americas/20250719-bolsonaro-s-son-known-as-number-3-pushes-for-us-pressure-on-brazil)

Ofc a fascist defends another, and to punish Brazil for its actions he placed that tariff. He also attempted to invalidate the entire country's sovereignty by classifying the PCC (a gang) as a terrorist organisation, which would allow the US to march into the country with impunity (https://www-theguardian-com.translate.goog/world/2025/may/07/brazil-gangs-terrorist-designation-pcc-comando-vermelho?_x_tr_sl=en&_x_tr_tl=es&_x_tr_hl=es&_x_tr_pto=tc and literally what's happening RIGHT NOW in Colombia, Mexico and Venezuela). IN ADDITION, he also tried to fine Brazil by classifying PIX, the national payment system, as a way for crime to propagate in South America and the US, while the real reason was that he disliked the strength of the BRICS in standing against the usage of Visa and MasterCard's duopoly as well as the global dependence on SWIFT (https://restofworld.org/2025/pix-brazil-us-investigation-digital-payments/).

That's not how tariffs work, Donald.

[–] Empricorn@feddit.nl 6 points 1 week ago

That's not how anything works!

[–] gergolippai@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

Donald's tariffs, like Donald, do not work.

[–] dalekcaan@feddit.nl 32 points 1 week ago

Those darn cattle ranchers, always complaining about doing well.

[–] Empricorn@feddit.nl 16 points 1 week ago

Why are they complaining? The President, who they voted for and who they have been supporting all the way up until now, said they are doing "so well, for the first time in decades"...

Double hypen, did he get ai to write this?

[–] slingstone@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Um, guys, I use double hyphens--am I an LLM?

[–] Zoomboingding@lemmy.world -3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You can't just assume every block of text with an em-dash is from an LLM... This is Trump's (media coordinator's) signature style.

[–] WraithGear@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

was his signature style established before or after the adoption of llm’s?
