The FBI’s domestic terrorism watchlist is set to double in the coming months, according to journalist Ken Klippenstein, who has been reporting on President Trump’s National Security Presidential Memorandum titled “Countering Domestic Terrorism and Organized Political Violence,” also known as NSPM-7. The memo identifies potential domestic terrorists as someone expressing “anti-Christian,” “anti-capitalism” or “anti-American” views. Democratic Congressmember Ro Khanna responded on X, writing, “Trump’s NSPM-7 represses freedom of speech & association, investigating any organization with 'anti-capitalism' or 'anti-American' views. I ran a primary in 2003 against the Patriot Act and war in Iraq. NSPM-7 is a greater infringement on freedoms than the Patriot Act.”

Atheists are now terrorists

Man, every day I commit another crime I didn't know I was committing

They use to use "Godless" as a slur. I guess they can't anymore because they also want to punish people who don't believe in a god the same way they do.

shoe's on the other foot now, I guess

The fact that NSPM-7 wasn’t THE headline since it was signed on September 25th is an utterly damning indictment of our media and what they focus on. There have been a multitude of things since then that are also utterly damning indictments of our media, but NSPM-7 was like, the whole fucking game. It’s saying “I’m gonna paint with a broad brush and tell the FBI and other DHS orgs and internal security bullshit to surveil and persecute people I don’t like, and whose ideas I don’t like”.

So much for keeping the republic.

This is from the dictators handbook. Make everyone guilty so you can pick up anyone you like, whenever you like.

On what fucking grounds? I love how in america today nothing has to make sense and no one even feels the need to argue in favor of nonsensical views. They just state them as fact and get emotional about them if challenged.

It's "terrorism" to wish for a better society if that view of society conflicts with the current economic system. What a fucked up joke of a world. I guess this is an accidental admission that we're an oligarchy, since you're seen as an existential threat if your views would make the 1% less rich.

Don't give Peter Thiel ideas. Whenever someone suggests finding ways to read people's thoughts his third set of nictitating eyelids flicker in excitement as he secretes another layer of mucus from his flesh-layer. (He's the guy who plans on running the country if Trump turns out to not live forever.)

Did you know that most gaming mice can record audio through desk vibrations?

Totally cool.

Well, antifascist, anticapitalist, anti-colonialist, atheist, pro-trans, I guess I would be arrested right at the border at the land of the free. Good luck with the pedo-dictatorship USA.

Fuck

This is actually really really bad...

[–] fort_burp@feddit.nl 18 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Imagine if Facebook existed during the Red Scare.

"You liked a meme 8 years ago that someone posted in a group. There was a Communist in that group, so off to the gulag with you!"

dusts off hands "We are much better than those authoritarian Communists."

[–] possiblylinux127@lemmy.zip -1 points 6 days ago

Facebook would not exist

Authoritarianism destroys innovation

America is already fucked. Perhaps we could start fucking Fascists in America and elsewhere.

Just the Pedoresident cracking down on opposition as usual.

[–] peoplebeproblems@midwest.social 21 points 1 week ago

Well. Good luck finding such an organization.

Sounds like an excuse to torture and kill indiscriminately until no one opposes them.

Which has worked well for Russia and China?

[–] Tempus_Fugit@midwest.social 19 points 1 week ago

Oh neato, I can call myself a domestic terrorist now. Sounds exciting. Thanks Trump.

[–] MonkderVierte@lemmy.zip 17 points 1 week ago (6 children)

Trump really wants a civil war?

[–] Typhoon@lemmy.ca 3 points 6 days ago (1 children)

The American people would have to actually stand up for themselves for a civil war to start.

[–] reddifuge@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago (1 children)

They won't, just like the Germans. The rest of the world is going to have to put America down.

[–] Typhoon@lemmy.ca 2 points 6 days ago (2 children)

That isn't going to happen.

The American people are going to have to do this themselves. There's no one coming to save them.

Also, we can't do a civil war even if everyone wanted it, we don't have clear lines and we don't have separate militaries. What Trump/Miller is gambling with is a an armed coup so he can deploy deadly force and start doing what Miller in particular has been thirsting for ever since the first time his mother tried to drown him. (I assume.)
