!nostupidquestions is a community dedicated to being helpful and answering each others' questions on various topics.

The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:

Rules (interactive)

Rule 1- All posts must be legitimate questions. All post titles must include a question.

All posts must be legitimate questions, and all post titles must include a question. Questions that are joke or trolling questions, memes, song lyrics as title, etc. are not allowed here. See Rule 6 for all exceptions.

Rule 2- Your question subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material.

Your question subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material. You will be warned first, banned second.

Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.

Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.

Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.

That's it.

Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.

Questions which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.

Rule 6- Regarding META posts and joke questions.

Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-question posts using the [META] tag on your post title.

On fridays, you are allowed to post meme and troll questions, on the condition that it's in text format only, and conforms with our other rules. These posts MUST include the [NSQ Friday] tag in their title.

If you post a serious question on friday and are looking only for legitimate answers, then please include the [Serious] tag on your post. Irrelevant replies will then be removed by moderators.

Rule 7- You can't intentionally annoy, mock, or harass other members.

If you intentionally annoy, mock, harass, or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.

Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.

Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.

Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.

Let everyone have their own content.

Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here. This includes using AI responses and summaries.

MODERATORS

It seems like anytime anywhere online, like Reddit and Lemmy, they make unpopularopinion sub-communities. They encourage people to post actual unpopular opinions that people may believe in or may have a different angle of a situation to express.

But everytime, they all fall apart because as soon as someone posts a real ones, the community and the moderators sound the alarms and get that person banned and post removed.

So why do they even bother? Because they're too used to soft-ball like kind of expressions like "BEYONCE IS OVERRATED" or something. That's not unpopular, when people think the same by a lot.

You mean this post that's not removed? https://kbin.melroy.org/m/unpopularopinion@lemmy.world/t/1316788

(Edit: Fixed wrong post link. That link was to this post 🀦)

Looks like a cromulent, albeit absolute shit, opinion to me. So far so good (using that phrase loosely). BUT... you seem to have behaved very asshole-ish in the comments.

And the modlog says Trolling and Ban Evasion and listed another alt with a similar post history to yours that was also banned for trolling and hasn't posted since your account was created. πŸ€”

So, maybe instead of whinging you do some self reflection, yeah?

Did you see the other thread on the threadaverse sub? Dude is having a full blown meltdown over people thinking that he was wrong.

There are a lot of absolute shit opinions there, honey. You seem to forget that a lot of people on that instance are very argumentative at a given, that would guarantee trigger argumentative-like responses.

And you're going to honestly believe a mod's reasoning at face-value? Wow, you lack some serious coherent insight and awareness. You're definitely the kind of fool who doesn't read articles but believes headlines at face value.

And you're going to honestly believe a mod's reasoning at face-value?

Irrelevant. As a literate human being, I can click on your username and see your submissions. I can search the alt they listed and read those submissions. And, finally, I can look at those and arrive at the conclusion that both of those seem like trolling and the same person.

Now that you've been sufficiently fed, I bid you adieu with my handy dandy block button.

Uhhh - do you use them as an opportunity for racism and/or hate speech?

[–] Assassassin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 5 hours ago

Lol fuck you, you're just mad that you got called out on your opinion blaming homeless people for being homeless.

"I posted my unpopular opinion on an unpopular opinion sub and people didn't all agree with me πŸ‘ΏπŸ‘ΏπŸ‘Ώ"

Don't post an unpopular opinion and then whine when it's deemed unpopular.

People lie to themselves.

I want to eat healthy. I want to be a good person. I want to be understanding. Etc.

People want delicious food, to be an impervious god in eternal control of everything.

Because it was always about farming karma.

Looking at your posting history, your recent post... probably violates rules 1, 4 and 5: no politics, shitposting is okay as long as it's not problem, and no trolling.

the answer to your question is that there are differences between opinions that are unpopular and opinions held by assholes. Believing that ice cream sucks is unpopular. Believing that poor people shouldn't spend money on ice cream is vile. Do you see the difference?

(Just to be clear... ice cream does not suck.)
