Please note this was written in 1993, so the wheels of time turned to prove Hugh White wrong in some of his assessments. But the strategic choices Australia has made feel a little clearer from reading this. Especially in this year 2025 as the geo-strategic game has violently woken from its long slumber under US domination.

Thanks for posting, I'd never heard of the Joe Walker Podcast, but will be checking it out.

For anyone interested in an Australian focused take on international relations who hasn't discovered the "Australia in the World" podcast yet, I highly recommend that as well.

Yeah, Aus in the World is a good one, i've listened off and on to them for a few years.

This is my favourite interview from his podcast. Packed full of interesting current and historical thoughts Ken Henry — An Economic Odyssey (#145) ^note: its a bloody long one^
