badposting is a comm where you post badly

This is not a !the_dunk_tank@hexbear.net alternative. This is not a !memes@hexbear.net alternative. This is a place for you to post your bad posts.

Ever had a really shitty bit idea? Joke you want to take way past the point of where it was funny? Want to feel like a stand-up comedy guy who's been bombing a set for the past 30 minutes straight and at this point is just saying shit to see if people react to it? Really bad pun? A homemade cringe concoction? A cognitohazard that you have birthed into this world and have an urge to spread like chain mail?

Rules:

  1. Do not post good posts.
    • Unauthorized goodposting is to be punished in the manner of commenting the phrase "GOOD post" followed by an emoji that has not yet been used in the thread
    • Use an emoticon/kaomoji/rule-three-abiding ASCII art if the rations run out
  2. This is not a comm where you direct people to other people's bad posts. This is a comm where you post badly.
  3. This rule intentionally left blank.
  4. If you're struck for rule 3, skill issue, not allowed to complain about it.

Code of Conduct applies just as much here as it does everywhere else. Technically, CoC violations are bad posts. On the other hand: L + ratio + get ~~better~~ worse material bozo

You present with two options either fail you and have you go fulneaky on me or hand one out cheapening their significance

ty 🥺 it’s one of the oldest physics texts so those parts are pretty much obsolete aside from gaining insight into how people in ancient greece perceived the world, but it also doubles as a manual on how to be a Chill Guy, which is timeless

if you actually do read it, do not skip the intro/foreword and footnotes as you go if you aren’t already familiar with the topics

[–] Wmill@hexbear.net 2 points 9 hours ago

I won't skip since I am not at all familiar with this so thanks for the rec doggirl-thumbsup

Smacks top of head I can fit so many gold stars on this good boy.

[–] Wmill@hexbear.net 11 points 1 day ago (2 children)

You'll get your star when you tell me what you've been reading, so far everyone's been giving me 🥺

[–] Coolkidbozzy@hexbear.net 10 points 1 day ago (1 children)

debt the first 5000 years 🥺

[–] Wmill@hexbear.net 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I quite like that one ⭐, highly recommend the dawn of everything afterwards

[–] Coolkidbozzy@hexbear.net 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

That scene from Se7en will always be hilarious. "Marquis de Shadae . . . Of Human Bondage, Bondage?" "Not what you think."

⭐ I guess I never specified what theory

⭐ late star had to go out and get some more

[–] Sam@hexbear.net 9 points 1 day ago (2 children)

It would be pretty funny to have a sort of forum signature that just lists all the theory you have provably read and comprehended. Like you have to pass an exam or something to get it.

[–] Wmill@hexbear.net 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Idk how to feel about that but having discussions with people could lead to more insights but I would feel like a smarty if I got medals for finishing the stuff I read

[–] alexei_1917@hexbear.net 3 points 1 day ago

If I got a fun badge or sticker for actually reading theory, I might actually get myself to read more of it.

[–] alexei_1917@hexbear.net 1 points 1 day ago

Would make this place feel too much like a real party hall rather than a shitposting site. And I'd probably fail the test even after reading all the theory on our Official Reading List (do we even have one of those?). I'm just really bad at taking political tests and party questionnaires.

But it might get more of us to read our theory, so... maybe not entirely a terrible idea?

The Coming Insurrection - The Invisible Committee

[–] Wmill@hexbear.net 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I have no idea what this is but gonna put it on my list ⭐

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 2 points 1 day ago

I think it's mostly correct but it's written in such a way that anyone who reads it from any side of the spectrum could agree with it and see it as reinforcing their own ideology. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who isn't already ML, a fascist would read it and just become even more extreme.

It's the kind of tract that will make people with radical views significantly more radical.
