A hacktivist remotely wiped three white supremacist websites live onstage during their talk at a hacker conference last week, with the sites yet to return online.

The pseudonymous hacker, who goes by Martha Root — dressed as Pink Ranger from the Power Rangers

So, a super hero.

Even funnier is that it was a dating site.

Root, whose identity remains unknown, published the leaked data on a site she created called okstupid.lol, a play on mainstream dating service OkCupid. A subset of user profiles is now browsable via an interactive map, while the full dataset has been archived through Distributed Denial of Secrets (DDoSecrets), a whistleblower platform known for hosting sensitive leaks.

This is hilarious.

Edit: lmao, exposed raw EXIF data

Edit 2: there's an IQ field where people lie and put it at 130. I just found one that says "140-159"

OkStupid? Hmm... That's a name I've not heard in a very long time... Curious.

Watched the video last week. Two standout parts:

  • She tries to get access to the database from outside. Tries a bunch of ways. Then just tries going to /download-all-data (or something similar). Page shows up with a 'download' button. Clicks. Downloads. No security.

  • Last 5m of video, she runs a python script. Not clear what it's doing under the hood, but it prints out status that it's deleted all applications, databases, backups, email accounts, social media, and DNS.

At this point, my BS sensor was pegged. But if true, it was a total takedown.

The sites are still wiped (other than the homepage). It was real:

As of this writing, WhiteDate, which Hoffmann described as a “Tinder for Nazis”; WhiteChild, a site that claimed to match white supremacists’ sperm and egg donors; and WhiteDeal, a sort-of Taskrabbit-esque labor marketplace for racists, are all offline.

The administrator of the three websites confirmed the hack on their social media accounts.

“They publicly delete all my websites while the audience rejoices. This is cyberterrorism,” the administrator wrote on X on Sunday, vowing repercussions.

if these things werent hacked, it wouldnt be news.

Let's not give the right too much credit. They claim Trump was shot in the ear last year. I'm surprised they were able to guess the body part Charlie was shot in. They will make anything the news if it will gain sympathy for their fascism

an anti whie nationalist hacker claimed to hack them, and the white nationalists confirmed it. Nothing pro-white nationalist saying they were hacked honestly

The website itself does no longer exist, so the takedown has been real.

I have seen deployments on aws like that where everything is one I AM identify for everything. I still think backups are not really deleted for 7 days but if corporate systems still get ransomed, the kkk won't do much better.

[–] ryannathans@aussie.zone -2 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Any evidence they weren't her own sites?

[–] cows_are_underrated@feddit.org 10 points 5 days ago

Martha Root has been active before this (you can check her social media accounts). We have seen pictures of the person who owned the sites and also remember, that she was only one person of the 3 person team who investigated the site.
