Kids these days....when I was a kid, we organized our own fight clubs - no adults necessary!

That headline is giving them too much credit. They merely let kids fight and essentially yelled "CRIPPLE FIGHT! KICK HIM IN THE BALLS!" like Cartman would instead of stopping it when they saw it.

A "ringleader of a child fight club" would need to organize fights and betting, make sure everyone keeps their mouth shut. You know, the basics. You gotta train your champs a bit so you get a good show going. I'm not saying I'm sad about it but as far as child fight clubs go they didn't really have anything going. If there was a child fight club union they wouldn't qualify is all I'm saying.

Seriously though fuck those kinds of people.

I thought that they just took bets. Like ok "two lollypops on the curly kid at 3 against 2"

[–] mx_smith@lemmy.world 13 points 20 hours ago

Well maybe they were all practicing the first rule of the fight club

Weren’t there a few similar stories in the last five or ten years? One was a teacher who did this in his classroom. Another was some woman who had parties with her teen son and his high school friends..

How long until DraftKings takes over the betting aspect?

“I can’t believe how we have to explain to men how painful it is to be hit in the private area,” Hagood countered.

We had a fight club in our school. Broke a few windows, loosened a few teeth, but teachers definitely were not involved.

Craighead County District

I completely misread that.

Rules 1 & 2 were clearly broken by someone in the club.

According to Prosecuting Attorney Sonia Hagood, the incident lasted 30 minutes and included a teacher instructing a student to hit another “in the private area.”

“Engage” describes itself as a “unique learning center that teaches children with autism the executive functioning skills that will make them accomplished, goal-driven adults.”

Say what you want, "kick him in the balls" is pretty effective. And I'm willing to bet that several current US billionaires have said the same exact thing, and look where they are now.

Both officially and unofficially probably.

[–] sevon@lemmy.kde.social 4 points 21 hours ago

Not the kind of "Engage" he asked for.

[–] Spacehooks@reddthat.com 9 points 20 hours ago

Court documents sealed for 90 days. Details are going to be bad.

Ok ... who talked about Fight Club?
