I don't know a lot about guns, but isn't that a good way to get disarmed and shot with your own weapon???

[–] modus@lemmy.world 5 points 7 hours ago

If John Wick is the one staring down the barrel, yes. Otherwise, if the aggressor is backed by a hoarde of pigs, you're gonna have a bad time.

[–] Aussiemandeus@aussie.zone 9 points 10 hours ago

It's a good way to get shot trying to grab a weapon pointed that close to your face. Even with great practice it is still no guarantee.

Not to mention there's way more armed people there ready to respond

that is a credible threat to their safety, they would be entirely justified to shoot him after he puts his gun away as a response to what he did

remember, you're allowed (nay, encouraged) to shoot to disarm your stated perceived threat after the claimed perceived danger has passed

Every single one of these motherfuckers needs to be shot in the face. Every single one of them.

This is the moderate position, btw.

The Black Panthers were formed to protect citizens from the rampaging, out-of-control Oakland Police Department.

The Panthers would monitor traffic stops. Standing guard with loaded shot-guns.

Sometimes I wonder if things like this might not happen because people can get on the internet now, write something to ease their mind and in return get approval from their echochamber. And that's enough for them.

[–] kryptonianCodeMonkey@lemmy.world 5 points 14 hours ago

It totally is. While our awareness of such injustices has expanded, most of the time they arent happening anywhere near us because information travels so much more freely now. But that serves to desensitize us, to make responding with words in echochambers of anger a habit, and gives us more things to be concerned about so it is hard to focus on one thing. The net effect of that is that, when things actually happen in out backyards, we feel so overwhelmed, so disconnected (as everyone else in your echo chamber is physically far from you), and so habitually inactive that, for most, it makes answering the call to action slow at best.

That's because the Black Panther's were leftists, not liberals.

[–] NoneOfUrBusiness@fedia.io 22 points 1 day ago

That is some serious drip. Also yeah someone should try that again.

We should bring back berets.

Curtis Silwa was a CIA plot to demoralize and disrupt dissidents

Violence is never a solution.

...

Except when it is.

[–] elbucho@lemmy.world 22 points 1 day ago (1 children)

People who say that violence is never the answer are just asking the wrong fucking questions.

[–] Wizard_Pope@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Violence is not the answer. It's the question. And the answer is yes.

Is there a non imgur source?

[–] IndustryStandard@lemmy.world 6 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Catbox.moe seems to be down right now not sure what is up with that.

If you have any alternative suggestions for sites which allow anonymous uploaded videos I can upload it there

Imagine something going wrong here, like a balloon pop in the background. These guys would probably just massacre everyone.

😂.

As Hernandez approached the passenger side door of his patrol car, he heard a popping sound which he later told investigators he perceived to be a gunshot. And he said he believed he had been hit.

“He began yelling ‘shots fired’ multiple times, falling to the ground and rolling,” the sheriff’s report said. “He fired into the patrol car.”

Lmao cops are ridiculous...

[–] CileTheSane@lemmy.ca 5 points 10 hours ago

He heard an acorn drop and thought he was shot...

[–] chuckleslord@lemmy.world 15 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

Yeah. Hahaha! What silly little guys that are given legal weapons and trained to perceive everything around them as a lethal threat! They're so funny with how they murder people over nothing and are almost never held to account. How ridiculous! /s

He heard an acorn fall and then tried to kill the person he left defenseless in his patrol car over it. I don't know why that's funny. Stupid, yes. Funny, absolutely not.

It's more of a nervous laughter 😅 not haha laughter. It's ridiculous because this is what we're dealing with. A bunch of goons with guns that hear any noise and think they've been shot and immediately start blasting.

This more accurately reflects me as I was reading the article

One time I visited Kent State University, and one of the plaques there talked about how, after the massacre, a group of students were planning to reassemble to mourn the victims and continue the protest. One of the professors shouted something along the lines of, "They're just gonna kill you all!" and desperately begged and pleaded for them to disperse, not because he disagreed with their cause, but because he understood that they would be throwing their lives away.

The students were convinced. When the first gunshots had rung out, most of them thought they were firing blanks to intimidate them. They couldn't imagine that the guards would simply open fire with live rounds on a crowd of unarmed students. But afterwards, it was obvious that they would have no restraint, no matter how peacefully they mourned.

He should get the same charges I would get if I did the same thing. I am not 100% sure what those would be, because my penis is not an innie, but I am confident it wouldn't be nothing.
