Too self-repeating and boring article that doesn't even attempt to answer any questions the reader might have. I quit after a few paragraphs without understanding this cattle behaviour.

I mean, they kinda did try to provide a comment right in the first paragraph or two on how if there’s water between them and food they won’t drink and just dehydrate themselves. Article wasn’t that bad. How are they going to explain something in further detail if they are just discovering this behavior or don’t understand it and just reporting an observation / occurance?
Example: in (date) at (place) the situation happened when after heavy rains the sheep surrounded by water refused to cross it despite it being not deep enough to be a barrier. Sheep die from dehydration and starvation but still refuse to cross a shallow water. Similar behaviour was seen a few times before.
See? 1 sentence (with poor grammar but that's the best I can do :) ) contains the very same amount of information as a few first paragraphs of the article.
It isn't magic. It is the basic respect to the reader.
Probably not wrong, just being picky. I do it all the time too.
