No US owned or run service is safe with the cloud act and administrative (judge free) warrants.

Even if you're not doing anything illegal, just upsetting or getting the curiousity of this admin is sufficient to have your information taken.

Only a matter of time before they start Russia style disappearing people. They're already murdering civilians in broad daylight, ON VIDEO and fucking getting away with it.

I think you’ll find that’s started.

Like they’ve been told a number of times, the sooner they make the decision that losing a job, house and going hungry for a while at worst is better than dying at absolute worst and do a peaceful shutdown, the better off they’ll be.

Is that already aiding and abetting murder?

If someone was killed as a result then you could argue yes. Doesn't seem to be the case here, thankfully.

who have been critical of the Trump administration.

Critical of Zionist supremacist rule over the USA. The visa revocation happened in 2024, when Biden was in charge. Unclear when Google gave data, but this is a big USA problem rather than just a Trump problem.

Yep, those of us who are privacy minded have been sounding the alarms for years now.

What does Zionism have to do with this topic?

[–] humanspiral@lemmy.ca 7 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

The visa revocation, and subsequent crackdown google assisted with, was based on attending an anti-genocide protest.

Well, those fuckers captured the US government decades ago. Pretty much why the actual effect of actions taken by either party play out almost the same fucking way...

Complying with the federal government while the federal government is acting like the mob is not "legal compliance", but they won't dare anger their armband-wearing masters.
