Models affected include the BMW's 2 Series Coupé, several variants of the 3 Series, 4 Series and 5 Series, the 6 Series Gran Turismo, the 7 Series saloon and the X4, X5, X6 and Z4, according to the carmaker.

So they were telling BMW drivers if they use their blinkers their car will eventually catch on fire. Now it all makes sense.

Of course. They're used to signal the slower cars to move out of the way on the Autobahn. Excessive use of flashing headlights can get you into trouble with the police so blinkers are used.

They wouldnt bother recalling that since they'll have a max of like 5 fires (I mean, I'm sure they use the hazard lights occasionally!)
