Surely Iran wouldn't hit an election facility necessitating a federal takeover of elections right?

[–] Mirshe@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago

Federal takeover, no. Now, federalizing National Guard units and having them and ICE police polling places in swing states to make sure "people vote correctly"?

I'm gonna be honest, I don't even think Iran has any foreign sleeper cells or connections they can even use. Most of their diaspora are liberals that support the overthrow of the government, and they never made any ideological appeal for terrorism like Al Qaeda or ISIS.

As hilarious as it is, the CIA is probably struggling to find a foreign Iranian who would even care enough to bother lol.

First and only thing that came to mind. There's a reason this is "news".

Why not both?

Well, wouldn't you if some assholes decided to bomb your country?

If by "signal" they mean the numbers station which appeared at 7910 kHz and moved to 7842 kHz, then Iran is attempting to jam it.

Normally, one would not expect a country to jam its own means of communications, unless they are playing 5D chess or something.

The Iranian Numbers Station Story Just Took An Odd Turn

Not surprising. This would be the moment to do it.

If they want to destroy America, the Bin Laden gambit is proven to work.

It's a long shot, but it would be nice if these sleepers and the leadership activating them understood that there's a very specific demographic of Americans that wish ill on Iran and Muslims where the rest are disgusted by the current actions and have support for most Iranians and Muslims. It would at least narrow down their potential targets if there were going to be something that happens.

Be better than the US, Iran. Don't blow up a school. Look at voter maps and find the redist locations if you want to hurt this doing the most hurting.
