It's like one step up from Joe Rogan disclaiming his own words because he's a self-proclaimed dumbass. It's a self-aware statement from an elderly man acknowledging the things he says may be wrong but he just doesn't care to spend his time trying to be accurate, but from a president and the center of a bluster-based regime it's shocking.
Immediate response of, "I don't know" was telling.

No, the reporter is pointing out that if what Trump said was true, then Iran has Tomahawk missiles. That's absurd, so clearly what Trump said is bullshit
You mean the NYT video that shows a completely different (nearby) building being bombed? Don't get me wrong, I don't trust Trump either, but spreading made up clickbait won't help.

There are a lot of comments here saying that this is not the most insane thing ever said in history, when it really is:
The US has sold 0 Tomahawks to Iran, and it is exclusively available to closest US allies, which are all in the “pure demonic hatred towards” Iran club. It is categorically ignorant of all historical US doctrine, and the extreme insanity of US government is no one has told him how unacceptably stupid he is for even suggesting it.
Tomahawks further require special launching hardware, including a specific fitting rocket booster, software, and a US satelitte data link for any targeting.
