Sorry... Didn't trump say that they had been negotiating with Iran? And that's why they stopped bombing Iran, because the negotiations were going so well? And then Iran said we're not negotiating with y'all. Is this in response to that? Like is Kegseth saying we don't actually want to negotiate anyways?

That lookback at daddy

Combined IQ of -7.

I am reminded of the Marge Simpson picture:

"It's true, but he shouldn't say it."

I dunno. Maybe putting an alcoholic Fox News host in charge of the largest army in the world was a bad idea.

A stooge is a stooge

Dumbest mother fucker alive. He needs to go learn about Teddy Rosevelt.

It's apparent to me that he thinks that everything he's saying is so badass. He's the coolest person he knows.

WAR FIGHTERS 🦅🇺🇸👊🏻

This guy creeps me out. He loves war, bombs and fighting, but only behind his army. Weak and pathetic. Hope he gets unalived by the own war he started

[–] Seaguy05@lemmy.world 21 points 1 day ago (1 children)

He looks so desperate and the words he's saying come off more as a plea than confidence.

Oh yeah that's a boy who thinks that if he's tough enough and mean enough everyone will go his way as he's starting to worry it isn't working.

I'd pity him if he didn't prove over and over he doesn't even deserve pity. He knows this is getting pinned on him and while I wish his boss fell for it too, I still hope this manchild faces painful consequences

Great... Now the bombs themselves are running LLMs‽

Oh, right! That's how you get them to teleport into Waffle Houses.

Long and hard, even.

Why are they the DOD again? Wasn't there a name change?

[–] IndustryStandard@lemmy.world 30 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They are officially still the DOD. The name change has never been officially approved despite Hegseth choosing to identify with a different pronoun.

Department of War when they can blow up innocent civilian fishing boats that can't fight back. Department of Defense when they get fucked up from someone who can, and does, fight back.

[–] keyez@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

They snuck in DoW as a secondary name which didn't need approval. The official name on contracts is still DoD or I guess if the person wanted they could replace Defense with War but it's all just a waste of time.

[–] Hideakikarate@sh.itjust.works 16 points 1 day ago

They can't keep things straight. Got an ad recently for military service that was "Paid for by the Department of War." Plus, it makes the war sound better if it's fought for "defense." Whatever aims to make them sound better at any given time.

Come'on Yanks, get rid of these wankers!

The last time we actually had a choice:

[–] mosscap@slrpnk.net 3 points 17 hours ago

Damn I wish someone would choose Hegseth and Trump! They can choose Mike Johnson and a couple Supreme Court justices too while they're at it...

[–] lemmy_outta_here@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago

What do the bombs have that you want?

[–] lemmyng@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

Quick, somebody dress up a bomb in a suit and arrange a meeting with these fools!

[–] thagoat@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 1 day ago

I know where to drop the next bomb

[–] Assassassin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 1 day ago

I'm going to insist that we actually use their chosen term in this case. It's the Department of War.

[–] unemployedclaquer@sopuli.xyz 5 points 1 day ago

OK bubbie. So why and what the fuck?

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Like in the movie "Dark Star"? It did not end well...

[–] FatVegan@leminal.space 0 points 1 day ago

Americans are too stupid to use words to negotiate? I can't believe it
