Surprised advertisers aren’t projecting off of clouds already.

It's already been pioneered

must buy bat food. must buy bat food.

There’s a solution to all that…

full spread. or the phaser doing a sweeping lance.

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 2 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Didn't the -A refit switch the beams out for pulse phasers?

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 4 days ago

the GALAXY X in the Alt timeline had the lance, but i dont think it can sweep side to side. probably better to use hushnock or 8472 beams.

If this becomes a thing, I will dedicate my life to funding and developing laser weapon that can blast them out of the sky.

They we'll play Space Invaders for real.

I’ll join you. I used to bullseye womp rats in my T-16 back home. They're not much bigger than a Starlink.

Isn't that not a problem since the satellites are in a decaying orbit?

Or is there risk that the orbits will not decay if there are collisions?

Ugh. I hate billionaires.

Yes, but 'Please Like Me' Musk doesn't care about any of that.

They are already destroying standards on geo-security. Blocking their ~~153.0.0.0/8~~ and sorting out what's legit has been a fucking nightmare. Starlink's outgoing security is less than shit, it's non-existent.

[–] Taldan@lemmy.world 2 points 5 days ago

Can you expand on what you mean? What level of security do other ISPs provide that Starlink does not?

I wonder how difficult it would be to set up a base station that would fuck with them from the ground.

I mean becomes inevitable as we creep towards being more space faring. Elon is just a piece of shit and doing it first.
