fuck Schneider in general, but about the draft i agree. the US is so nonchalant about starting a new way every Thursday is because there is no draft.

they live so far removed from consequences that they can afford to be ignorant while their elected representatives deal immeasurable pain to innocent people and children around the world every day for decades. half the population doesn't even know what the fuck is going on. if there were a draft they would be paying attention.

Draft = you dont actually have freedom. I've said it since I was a child and the only response I get is "well they don't/won't actually use it". Well, enjoy either dying for what you don't believe in or going to prison. Y'know, that place that has legal slave labor.

Like he's gonna start saying the reason he doesn't make as much money as he wants is liberal backlash to the horrendous shit he says, as opposed to him just being a nepo hack. Then waits for conservative offers to roll in and plaster his face around their circuit of ghouls for easy money.

There's a pretty good argument that the reason public support for the Vietnam War was so low was because of the draft. Compared to Iraq/Afghanistan, the all-volunteer military in those wars meant that public opinion was largely indifferent. You can do a lot more damage to the world when your population is indifferent to what you do with your military, so there's a good argument that a draft would be bad for those in power. But we're living in the upside-down now so a draft would probably help Trump for some insane reason.
