So, in conclusion, Reddit banned McCartney for posting images from his own concert in his own subreddit? Wild...
Turns out it was copyright infringement! Who knew? /s

Gotcha! This comment has not been removed... Probably.
Nobody knows yet what triggered the ban. It could have been an automatic system, a moderator decision, or even some glitch with account verification. Reddit has not said a word about it.
I got banned from a bunch of Reddit subs for once telling someone they were wrong about the Yorkshire accent in the UK. They called me a liar about being British and then I got banned from like 30 places at once.
That tracks. You pissed off someone who had a connection with a mod and/or admin. Been there!
I got banned once for dunking on IG travel trends and the mod involved was dumb enough to PM me threatening me.
It's just pathetic how emotional and over reactive people saying crap on the internet they don't like. I don't agree with a lot of stuff but I see no reason to censor people for enjoying musicals or whatever else I hate.
Reddit will ban you for even the mildest of takes. Their AI admin is draconian in metering out bans. The platform seems to really want to get rid of all of the pesky humans still there and just be a safe space for bots.
hopefully he moves to the threadiverse, though it is unlikely.
Mastodon would be a reasonable goal.
Why limit to one aspect? Mastodon (announcements) + Pixelfed (photos of the concerts) + Lemmy/PieFed (fan discussion) + PeerTube (videos of the concerts) + Loops (shorts about the concerts and announcements) + ...
The AI mod prompts were not sufficient to encapsulate common sense. I am shocked.
And why is that happened?
I imagine the site’s bot-detectors had a false positive (imagine that!). McCartney’s account had only posted once before and then remained dormant for a number of years. Suddenly, the account woke up again and surely must have gained an unusually rapid number of upvotes due to the celebrity status and the fandom subreddit. Looking at this data without any context, white-listing of accounts, or human eyes, this could potentially trigger their automated ban system. Additionally/alternatively, sharing Dropbox links seems to be an unspoken no-no on the site?
Victoria would have made sure he was whitelisted.
Now that’s a name I’ve not heard in a long time.
A long time.

A moderator cannot BAN your account. They can ban you from posting on their subreddit, and can, often baselessly, get you reported to admins (who 100% of the time side with the moderators), usually flagging any kind of modmail conduct as "threatening or harassment".
I've literally got a warning because I dared to ask a mod why they banned me - their response being a 30 day mute and a report to the admins about "Hey! I was wondering why you banned me, as I don't think my comment broke any of the rules of the sub or Reddit" being threatening, and harassment....
*28 day mute :)
I've been temp banned from Reddit multiple times now, for simply opposing genocide & war on behalf of Israel. People getting banned from Reddit should be seen as a badge of honor & means they're likely doing something right.
Can confirm, got permbanned for clowning on Nazis. It is a badge of honor to wear with pride.
Queue nazi-sympathizers showing up to say "yOu CaN't JuSt CaLl AnYoNe YoU dIsAgReE wItH a NaZi!!1!1"
My brother in christ, the dude was wearing a red armband with a swastika and doing nazi salutes...

At least they're politely lining up to do it.
Oh sorry, I meant cue... I always get those mixed up...
I got a 3 day ban for suggesting Venezualans "return the favor" on Trump.
