china did implement rules that their military official cannot have family outside of the country or something. To prevent what we are seeing in Iran where the upper class have family growing up outside the country, causing them to have dual loyalty/ collaboration with CIA to avoid western sanctions on their oversea financial assets.

Absolutely. But it’s not about corruption but rather about removing weak and un-loyal members.

There’s a saying in China, 不怕神一樣的對手,就怕豬一樣的隊友, which translates to “I’m not afraid of godlike opponents, but I am afraid of pig headed allies.

Mostly around the gaming community, but it’s applicable in this case.
