Oh. Yeah. Someone should probably tell them that Pete Hegseth and Donald Trump don't care about civilian casualties. In fact, they might even be more likely to attack those targets, knowing civilians will be there.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 142 points 5 days ago (3 children)

The US isn't the only audience for this defiant display.

[–] skankhunt42@lemmy.ca 75 points 5 days ago (2 children)

But the pedo is the one who will bomb them, and its clear he doesn't give a fuck.

These people have balls. I wouldn't be there. I think it'll give him more reason to bomb them. Fuck this sucks.

US citizens need to show this kind of boldness come the May 1st general strike by continuing it for more than one day.

[–] village604@adultswim.fan 30 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Also, what moron specifies an end date to a strike? That's defeating the entire purpose of striking.

[–] evenglow@lemmy.world 25 points 5 days ago (3 children)

Step one is to get organized. Some morons know this.

[–] FederatedFreedom1981@lemmy.ca 7 points 5 days ago

Given the previous demonstrations, albeit too far and few in between, the numbers participating have increased each time.

I personally am cynical with the current show so far, but I remain hopeful that critical mass will be achieved. Agent Orangutan must be stopped.

you mean the 3 day weekend everyone is planning on taking? really hard to get enthusiastic about this when most engagement is lazy, but like i get why they are trying to make it as easy as possible to claim people are striking.

Remind me of the consequences when they killed 160+ schoolgirls on the first day of their attack?

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 12 points 4 days ago

Spain and Italy withdrew access to their military bases

Among other things: the global perception of the US sunk to unprecedented lows, below even China. The US's most steadfast allies have all rejected requests for support. This is a different world now and it's uncertain whether the US can regain its prior standing.

It won’t for a few generations, and that’s only if we at least attempt to bring the architects to justice and go after MAGA and its supporters like the Nazis they are. If we fail to hold the common people who approve of and endorse this it’ll just be Reconciliation 2.0, they’ll stew in their hate and plan for their next overthrow.

It is refreshing to hear that there are some Americans who understand that.

International relations with the US don't automatically become awesome after Trump is out of power (regardless how that exit happens).

You guys need to fix the stuff he broke, punish his co-conspirators and fix the systems that allowed someone like Trump gain the power to do what he has done.

That is going to take longer than a single reasonable president's term.

The rest of the world needs to be able to trust that the USA won't go down this road again.

Brave thing to do.

[–] WanderWisley@lemmy.world 61 points 5 days ago (6 children)

If this happens we all need to be off our asses and in the streets. No memes, no shitposting, on the fucking streets. It’s already been way too long and far for this administration to continually hold the world hostage.

[–] morto@piefed.social 49 points 5 days ago (1 children)

We don't need to let it happen first. We should be already on the streets.

General Strike. Don't work, don't shop.

[–] sexy_peach@feddit.org 7 points 5 days ago

I don't think US Americans are capable

[–] nutsack@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 5 days ago

im outside every single time but nothing crazy ever happens except police brutality like tear gas and arrests and energized republicans

[–] sexy_peach@feddit.org 6 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Sure but there's so many far easier things. Buy spray paint and go out at night and write some thoughts on the walls. Do easy things that are a little bit out of your comfort zone.

There's no way the US is going into france protest mode over a president, it has been proven. Trump could kill half the country and the other half would go to work.

[–] Goldmage263@sh.itjust.works 2 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

Unfortunately true. Half who voted still support him after all.

[–] RosaLuxemburgsGhost@lemmy.ml 5 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (4 children)

Organize committees in work places and represent as labor. Don’t wait for the union leaders who stifle the power of labor for their own gain any chance they get. The working class needs to take this into our own hands as a class…not as individuals.

If they think that will stop bombs, they're very much mistaken.

Although I suspect the Iranian regime know that all too well, and that this will solidify people against the invaders. It's hard to side with people who've just turned your family into mince.

[–] BygoneNeutrino@lemmy.world 8 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

This is pretty much the only strategy they have. Although their country is one third as populous as the United States, their defense department has less funding than Arkansa's public education system. Outrage from the America public is their only defense against US military superiority.

It's a good strategy. I'd be upset if my tax dollars blew up thousands of civilians making a human chain around a powerplant.

[–] assa123@lemmy.world 12 points 4 days ago

Trump on how to unite a country

[–] Space00@lemmy.world 24 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (1 children)

They are going to need those if they want a country after regime change. The people showing up to defend what is their’s is a good sign.

[–] frongt@lemmy.zip 4 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Need which, the bridges and power plants, or the people?

[–] not_IO@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 4 days ago

trump anf isreal found the one way to rally the iranian people behind their government..

[–] theacharnian@lemmy.ca 7 points 4 days ago

For a bunch of far right fasicsts, it's truly remarkable how the MAGA idiots and the Likud+ maniacs underestimate ...nationalism.

[–] Godric@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago

Hmmm, human chains ended horribly for the protesters a couple months back, I wonder how this will

[–] kamayatu24@lemmy.world 10 points 5 days ago

Most likely, this won't even come close to stopping the psychopath Trump.

[–] NostraDavid@programming.dev 4 points 4 days ago (1 children)
  1. Get all the Pro-Iranian-Government people right on top of important infra
  2. USA blows them all up
  3. ????
  4. PROFIT!?
[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 6 points 4 days ago

Remember when Osama Bin Laden killed all the NYC plutocrats and the US gave up on its imperial ambitions in the Middle East?

[–] watson387@sopuli.xyz 6 points 5 days ago (3 children)

They should probably not do that. Trump doesn't give a fuck. They're just increasing their death chances.

no but it helps the regime, by martyring them, and turning the public from other countries against israel and trump MORE. in the DS9 show, the CHangeling female, dominion proposed a plan to use meatshields, by placing cardassian citizens in around military compounds, power stations,,,etc. in order to turn the public against the rebels.
