Search on Start menu was not working for many users of Windows 11. Microsoft has admitted a server-side change is what broke it.

It's fucked up that search on the start menu even requires anything 'server-side' to begin with.

Microsoft: I don't know what QA is and at this point I'm too afraid to ask.

[–] XLE@piefed.social 3 points 1 hour ago

QA is when you vibe code tests, right

Everyone has a test environment. Some people are lucky enough to have a separate production environment

QA is for cowards who don't have faith in their code. Real programers can test in prod.

I would prefer that they leave Bing broken. It feels like defusing a bomb sometimes trying to use the search feature without accidentally opening the worst browser and search engine with "Overwatch" as my search term.

Edit: I haven't used Windows for the past 6 months. I use Nobara, BTW

Man, I truly can't be happier with my upgrade to Linux(CachyOS). I even went on to replace my bullshit-ass Eero router with my own hardware running OpenWRT. I'm looking into dropping android as well to continue chasing that high.
