We are the extinction event

This is super sad. And their solution

Cutting the carbon dioxide pumped into the atmosphere by burning fossil fuels to zero is the only way to halt global heating

But that’s not going to happen. I wonder if there is some other solution, like an artificial habitat. There’s less than 600,000 of them left, which is not a lot.

If you’ve never seen the movie March of the Penguins, I highly recommend it.

Humans got down to about 1,200 individuals approx 800k years ago. We came back just fine. We could probably make a conservatory for 10k or so of the species and bring them back at our leisure.

We did get back, but did we get back "just fine?"

We did elect Trump twice, people look up to Musky, kids are depressed with no places to chill without being harassed by NIMBYs/cops, still dealing with civil rights issues 60yrs later, etc

Well, that sucks. Penguins are cool.

We just have to create a penguin reserve on Pluto and make sure no dark matter tankers fly within 30ft of it to avoid toll booths.

Trump doesn't care about penguins. He's a real estate developer. He's destroyed many habitats in order to build.
