It's like every day something about this regime comes out that simply defies believe. The stupidity is just mind blowing.

https://people.com/jd-vance-heckled-says-pope-leo-should-be-careful-talking-theology-amid-donald-trump-conflict-11950188

While speaking at the event on Tuesday, April 14, Vance, 41, who converted to Catholicism as an adult, insisted that the first American pope should “be careful when he talks about matters of theology.”

I don't feel like the current cabinet would be strongly-positioned for a theological dispute with the Pope.

Some convert joins up, and starts dissing the Pope? Just excommunicate this loser, and ban him from Heaven. Surely the Pope has that kind of power.

MAGA is virtuosically incompetent. Ultimately, that's what will save America. Unfortunately, they're doing a lot of damage along the way.

[–] tabarnaski@sh.itjust.works 2 points 11 hours ago

Never underestimate the destructive power of stupidity.

"And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to capture and destroy my brother......"

He really really wants to be the whitest black man in America.

I know he's stupid and a drunk, but I don't believe for a moment he thought there was a biblical verse about aviators. They were obviously repurposing the Pulp Fiction quote for this particular pilot and his unit.

[–] Rothe@piefed.social 6 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Indeed. He thinks he was being badass.

Right. That matches his persona perfectly.

I bet when he was around black people in social settings as a younger person he brought up Samuel Jackson to relate.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 2 points 13 hours ago

"I'm a big Samuel Jackson fan!"

"Okay, that's nice..."

[–] SalmiakDragon@feddit.nu 2 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

I think the issue was mixing in non-bible material, without disclosing it, during a sermon.

[–] Rothe@piefed.social 7 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

He should not be holding a sermon in the first place. That is the main issue. It is rather inconsequential if the goobledegook he says differs from regular sermon goobledegook.

All those crosses on his chest are stick-ons, right? To be a "Christian soldier" and be that ignorant of the Bible is an absolute slap in the face to anyone that takes Christianity seriously.

Confident stupidity feels like Kegsbreath's go-to move, though.

[–] P00ptart@lemmy.world 8 points 21 hours ago

Confident stupidity is the Hallmark of conservatives.

Pete hegseth is the alcoholic defense secretary for anyone who forgot.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 2 points 13 hours ago

Defense? I find him very offensive. Repulsive even.

[–] fox2263@lemmy.world 9 points 18 hours ago

He’s not bad in a good way either. Just bad.

[–] MrSulu@lemmy.ml 2 points 18 hours ago

Maybe if we switch to the word "Mother" to either bed or pig?
