Rules:

  1. The mods are fallible; if you've been banned or had a post/comment removed, please appeal.
  2. Off-topic posts will be removed. If you don't know what "Leopards ate my Face" is, try reading this post.
  3. If the reason your post meets Rule 1 isn't in the source, you must add a source in the post body (not the comments) to explain this. If the reason is in the source but is tedious to find (e.g. in a lengthy video), you must add an explanation for where it is.
  4. Posts should use high-quality sources (for a rough idea, check out this list), and posts should retain the title (if one exists) from works like news articles, videos, etc. You may (but need not) edit your post if the source changes the title. Other types of posts should have a title which accurately, relatively neutrally describes their contents.
  5. For accessibility reasons, an image of text must either have alt text or a transcription in the post body.
  6. Reposts within 1 year or the Top 100 of all time are subject to removal. Within moderator discretion, this doesn't just include reposts of the exact same media but also includes e.g. a secondary source telling basically the exact same story as another that was already posted.
  7. This is not exclusively a US politics community. You're encouraged to post stories about anyone from any place in the world at any point in history as long as you meet the other rules.

MODERATORS

“You know, we’ll be tormented by it for a long time – I will be,” Tucker Carlson said. “And I want to say I’m sorry for misleading people. It was not intentional, that’s all I’ll say.”

Though Carlson in 1999 had referred to Trump as “the single most repulsive person on the planet”, he beat most pundits in calling for Trump to be taken seriously before he won his first presidency in 2016.

Trump recently published a social media post calling Carlson “a Low IQ person – Always easy to beat, and highly overrated!!!”

FFS now I agree with Trump ?

Honestly, who gives a fuck. Disappear Tucker, you empty suit.

[–] FluidBeef@quokk.au 4 points 3 weeks ago

He always knew this. He made a deal with the devil because he thought it would hurt his enemies more.

[–] fodor@lemmy.zip 4 points 3 weeks ago

Of course it was intentional, but I bet he does regret it.

BULLSHIT!

It's all bullshit.

Curious picture with the article there. The 'tormented man' has the Charlie Kirk smile.

That's what I look like when it's really bright out and someone tells me to look at the camera, smile, and hold it.

It's the explanation for every right winger: you're either a moron, or evil, thought most commonly a good mix of both.

The ones in the former camp need to repeatedly "learn from their mistakes". Unless you're in the latter category, one would think that any reasonable person should think "maybe opinions on how to do things is better left to others", but alas, a lack of such processes is a requirement for the moron bit.

Tucker Carlson stopped being your average grifter and started being a genuine national security threat when he literally fucking went to Moscow and personally interviewed Putin about the genocide he's committing in Ukraine

Like he would have backed anybody else instead

The damage is made, but maybe he'll be able to turn his conservative fan base against Trump!

[–] RabbitBBQ@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago

I stopped listening to him when he quit wearing the bow tie

Idk how true the story that the white house used Tucker to assuage Iran's worries before the war is. But everything points to it being true.

The most reprehensible thing Carlson popularized is replacement theory: "It is an act of war for some (democrat leaning) people to have children". The dominant form of Christofascim is Zionist supremacist over Christianity - Only warmongering divine right old testament values. And replacement theory is critical to stronger zionist supremacist rule over America, because it is the muslims that are the most uppity about genocide and warmongering.

He is waking up some of the magats and exposing Israeli crimes. Nobody on the left could have reached these people so that I appreciate. I also think he’s doing real investigative journalism by doing interviews with people nobody on the left would have access to.

Countdown to Tucker announcing that he's running for president.

Can just literally torment this guy already because of all the harm he's done?
