Original WIRED article that is the basis of this material instead of the tabloid Yahoo News got this from: https://www.wired.com/story/ai-generated-maga-girls/

The AI further provided him with multiple options for content creation to pick from, so he decided to create a hot girl for the “MAGA/conservative niche.” This is because the AI told him that this idea would work. After all, “the conservative audience (especially older men in the US) often has higher disposable income and is more loyal.”

That's implied in "more loyal".

Not nece-celery.

I think it's important to break such things down as clearly and concisely as possible when it comes to late-stage capitalism and other elements actively at work, destroying what's left of democracy.

nececelery

Actually Indians wins again.

I mean we knew that, AI is both Actually Indians and African Intelligence

[–] bigchungus@piefed.blahaj.zone 15 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Extremely low paid Africans have been a vital part of the process to creating LLMs. Someone's got to manually sift through the scraped training dataset to make sure that it doesn't contain CSAM or NSFL.

[–] Skullgrid@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

make sure that CSAM or NSFL is correctly labelled

FTFY

[–] slacktoid@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 week ago

Yeah it's fucking horrible.. Also even if these jobs were well paying jobs, they are soul sucking. What we are trading off is not worth it

You think most of these companies are bothering to do that? Seriously? Even after the recent Grok CSAM generation stuff?

[–] Aatube@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 1 week ago

yes

Grok and Facebook are Grok and Facebook.

[–] Sibbo@sopuli.xyz 2 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Given how stupid AI is, this comment can be interpreted as incredibly racist.

[–] emmanuel_car@k.fe.derate.me 14 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Wasn’t there the case of that “AI startup” that was literally just outsourcing to a call centre in India? Literally Actually Indians

[–] Aatube@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 week ago

yeah that’s where the term was coined

[–] slacktoid@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 week ago

No I'm commenting on the African labour that has gone into the annotation of the training data used to train on LLMs, and also on the use of Indian labour to babysit these systems with mechanical turks, etc.

If the ai around us if half as decent as it is right now it's cause of their unappreciated and under paid labour.

Lowkey makes me want to start an ai girl onlyfans. How moral would it be to redistribute some of maga people's resources this way?

[–] Skullgrid@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (2 children)

[–] green_red_black@slrpnk.net 3 points 1 week ago
