A Florida university student was arrested Thursday after posting a message in a WhatsApp group chat that appeared to ask Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to "drop bombs" on her college, media reported, citing police. The student told officers it was a joke, but authorities are treating the threat seriously under Florida's laws on school-related threats.

The arrest was made after other students reported the message she sent in a WhatsApp group. As per a report by NBC Miami, the arrest report revealed that she made "a threat to kill or do bodily harm to individuals regarding a scheduled event on Friday, April 10, 2026, via a WhatsApp group chat."

The message was sent on Wednesday night to a chat which reportedly had around 215 students. She sent it when the students were discussing an upcoming event at the university's Ocean Bank Convocation Center. Saldana's message read: "@Netanyahu can you please drop bombs on FIU. Finals are next week and I'm not ready."

Up to 15 years for a silly comment.

Up to 0 years for stealing billions and serial rape, among others.

The legal system is in pristine condition. Why are you asking?

Written to an international genocidal war criminal and she's the one arrested, wtf.

If serious she is supporting the war criminal Netenyahu, if it is not serious she is mocking palestinians who really get bombed

She is facing more consequences for that comment than he is for his actions.

Or people who rape children on Epstein’s island

you shouldn't joke about bombing a place when the bombing of other places is still going on. this is a serious matter and the serious people dealing with it in a serious manner will not tolerate any jokes about it.

Ignoring for a second the overreaction in arresting her, did she send multiple messages or is one of the sources off? The article lists two different messages (including the not-mentioned-in-the-post-summary "There is going to be a bomb in the Ocean Bank Convocation Center and it was going to be Jonathan's fault"), but the one in the image about bonbons is not mentioned in the article at all.
