MODERATORS

I'm not a political person but I've noticed that for example Reddit has a more left leaning moderation in comparison to what X (Twitter) is.

For example, if someone does hate speech against LGBT people on X and you report them the moderation team will tell you that the content didn't break the rules and guidelines, but if you as an LGBT person answer to the homophobic conservatives with the same energy you'll get a 24 hours suspension from posting or interacting.

I've personally experienced this many times and it's making me so annoyed specially since there's huge accounts on X that are dedicated to spread extreme hate even wishing death on other people.

Well, don’t use Twitter.

I don’t mean to be grating, I mean to be blunt. Whatever you are doing here:

…but if you as an LGBT person answer to the homophobic conservatives with the same energy…

Does not matter because the algorithms are skewed, too. No “defending” you do will be shown to users who might actually change their opinion over what you say. As that wouldn’t be engaging.

Don’t believe me? Look at any neutral content (like NASA’s Artemis posts) logged out+VPN, then on your account.

there’s huge accounts on X that are dedicated to spread extreme hate even wishing death on other people.

There is no “fighting” this on Twitter, there is no balancing. That’s the illusion. There is no free speech on Twitter even if you were never censored, hence only way to win is to leave. And deprive them of your engagement.

If you have noticed a political bias then you are a political person.

It was bought by a Nazi who ran a chunk of the US government to personally enrich himself and who despises his own trans child. He runs the site as a way to control the narrative of the masses to support the ultra wealthy like himself.

So, yes?

its owned an run by a nazi who is best friends with a presidential fascist currently destroying all public media.

ya think?!

They're not best friends anymore, but I really thought Musk would try to pretend to hide it a bit more...

It's not conservative, it's nazism. Compassion is banned, building a strong society? forget about it.

No.

I am on the Left, and if I am objective, a lot of very extreme lefty people seem to really like censorship when convinient. X does not censor the way they like, so clearly it is a National Socialist website now. You will notice they will claim anyone who does not think like them is a National Socialist or a Nationalist Socialist sympathizer. Disagreeing with people is not "hate" and people not agreeing with me or saying things I do not like is not hate. Free speech includes dissenting opinions and none of us should pretend to be the morality police since I too see calls of violence from the Left but for some reason that is fine when we do it. Do not like hypocrisy, does not matter what side it comes and all sides are guilty of it at some point. That just reality.

Elon, despite the silly claim that he is one, is not a National Socialist. National socialism is a full on political framework like socialism. Who here, aside a stupid hand gesture can point out the exact National Socialist policies that Elon follows? Endless ad hominems do not make a person a national socialist, at least not among adults and for the record, I do not like Elon.

But it makes sense why hate get brought up a lot since "hate speech" laws were introduced by Stalin.

Objectively speaking it is far more open today than it was before. If anyone actually bothered to read the Twitter files, which I assume most people here have not out of ideological bias they would see how much it censored as per the Biden admin requests.

If people do not like people's opinions then do not follow them or look them up. This has worked for me for decades or just do not pay attention to them.

You're on the left eh? Interesting.

[–] FriendBesto@lemmy.ml -2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Been a Liberal my whole life. Just not a member of the cult mentality that some in the left seem to be part of, these days. We do exist.

For the most part, Canadian Liberals ≠ USA Progressives. For the crazy ones, you have to look at the recent convention of the NDP.

Been a Liberal my whole life.

Then you're not on the left dumbass

Nobody refers to the political philosophy of national socialism when they call someone a Nazi.

When someone gets called a Nazi, it refers to nationalistic, racist and faschist ideals and/or behaviour. You know, the stuff that was actually portrayed by the Nazis, rather than a political philosophy they named themselves for.

[–] FriendBesto@lemmy.ml 0 points 6 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

So they aren't National Socialists. I doubt t most people actually even know want a National Socialists actually even follows in policy outside memes.

Just a label that gets throw around just to antagonize anyone who disagrees with them. No wonder the term seems to be getting watered down. I see people calling everyone right of them a Nazi, these days.

Nationalism on its own is not a Nazi only trait. Everyone who knows history know that is vague. North Korea, China and The Soviet Union/Russia today are highly and extremely Nationalistic, are they National Socialists? In top of this, I do not know if you have travelled but Chinese people are among the most racist people I ever met. Remember when Disney has to hide Flynn's picture from the Star Wars posters or when they covered the face of Black Panther from their posters too?

Facism comes straight out of Marxism. Literally the father of Facism Giovanni Gentile defined it as Marxism + Nationalism. Where people are white canvases and the State gets to turn them into National Socialists via school and indoctrination. The only differences between National Socialists and "International Socialists" aka: Socialists, is that regard is the Socialists/Communists in practice want to seize the means of production while the NS want to not own it, but to dominate it via policy to the point that they're essentially one and the same. There is a lot of other overlaping things, too.

If we were to take that last point then the USA has been slowly leaning into Facism for the last quarter of acentury at least, moving forth regardless if the president was on the Left or the Right. So both sides are ever closer to Facism. If we are objective.

How do you do, fellow leftists?

[–] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

He's a at the very least a nazi sympathizer, otherwise known as a nazi

[–] FriendBesto@lemmy.ml 0 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Again, what National Socialist policies does he push?

[–] zealouscurmedgeon@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Elon: hails from the OG apartheid state, in his free time boosts racist stereotypes about black people, far right influencers and far right political movements, one of which is literally the remnants of the Nazi party and does the Nazi salute for the whole world to see. This guy: totes not a Nazi

You really do not know the whole picture in South Africa, eh? And what is happening there.

If you are American, I do not blame you. It does not get enough coverage there.
