One of mine likes to tug my bathrobe rope tie thing (hell even the whole robe lol) as I walk by her perch so now I'll lay at one end of the couch and tug of war the bathrobe rope by itself with her on the opposite side of the couch to mutual delight

Ours likes to play fetch with a chew stick.

Will jump onto the bed with the stick and chew on it for a bit then drop it near one of us. We will then throw it off the bed and he will jump for it and chew on it a bit more.

We bought a giant bag of plastic springs and one of ours loves to play fetch with them

I randomly point at my cat and tell her, "YOU!! I know what you've done!" and then I run at her. She immediately goes WILD and starts tearing around the apartment and doing little lion roars. If I stop pursuit too soon then she'll taunt me by jumping over me on the sofa over and over again until I continue chasing her. When I "catch" her then she gives me a sassy slap in the face and scampers off.

Fluffy one likes no games, only cuddles. But he plays cheetah (running through the apartment) with the red one.

Red one likes to play like dogs lol

We have a black cat. After a trip we left a black bag on the floor for a bit. She would get on the bag and if you walked by her without acknowledging her, she’d bop you on the foot.

If you acknowledged her, no bop. I could look right at her but if I didn’t say her name, I’d be bopped.

We left that bag on the floor for several more weeks to continue the game 😅

A friend has a long red shoelace she pulls behind her as she slowly walks around the house. The cat hides behind furniture and doorways, then pounces on the end of it. Runs ahead and hides again. Can go on for a long time. It's pretty cute.

I once had a cat who liked to play 'laundry basket turtle'. I think we once put a plastic laundry basket, upside down, over him as a joke. He started kind of lifting up one corner with his nose q and sliding it across the room. We thought he was trying to get out and felt bad, so lifted it up to let him out, but he just looked at us like "stop spoiling the game!"

This cat also liked to play tag similar to what a couple other comments here described.

My cat and I will play hide and seek (?), extreme peekaboo (?). She'll sit at the end of her tunnel in the living room and wiggle her butt while I run into the bedroom around a corner and wait. I'll hear her charge through the tunnel and see a little shadow creep around. When her head peeks around into the room, I'll throw my hands up and go "Raaaa!!" and chase her. Her tail gets huuuuge and she runs back to the tunnel. Rinse and repeat until she gets tired and decides it's just tunnel time.

I discovered my boy played fetch wayyyy better than my dog ever did. He would bring things back to me constantly. His favorite was hair ties, so I always had a bunch with me.

He'd come drop one nearby and meow and meow and meow until you flung it, he'd grab it and bring it back and meow meow meow, rinse and repeat. I miss him to pieces.

I had a cat with similar habits, but it was always empty balloons. She'd even try to catch them out of the air. I'd try to throw it in such a way that she would have to do flips to catch it, and I did get a few full flips. This was mostly a morning game while I was lying in bed. It ended when we moved and she had access to birds instead of objects vaguely like birds. It was also way less fun for me when she would bring the dead birds to our bed.

My mom and her calico would play tag. It started as peek-a-boo where she hid and the cat stalked her, but then kitty would run off and wanted to be stalked back. When either one was found, you had to go "boo!" with spooky claw fingers.
